Bulgarian Desert Spear Cover

Posted by Meg

Peat shared the new cover for the Bulgarian edition of The Desert Spear yesterday on Twitter and Facebook, stating that “Bulgarian Desert Spear cover is Jardir on steroids”.

What do you guys think? Dig the new look? Is this how you pictured Jardir?

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Daylight War yet, what are you waiting for? The U.K. versions is available at Waterstones and Amazon. Americans, check out the Random House page for all the appropriate buy links. Or go out and support your local bookstore. The German version of The Daylight War is now on sale! Check out the link to buy it here.

Weren’t able to make it to a U.S. event? Peat signed a stockpile of his books at each bookstore he visited. Even if you are not local, most of these will deliver. In the U.K.? Peat did the same for all the bookstores he visited as well.

  1. Too big (Jardir is always described as lean and sinuey),
no ward scars, a wooden shaft on the spear, and a red Turban?!
Looks like the artist hasn’t actually read the book(s) to me.
But on the much larger plus side, another published language is fantastic. Congratulations.

  2. I remember Jardir with white turban lol
I’m disappointed from bulgarian cover it’s look like fitness magazine with title Peter V.Brett…

  4. Naah, too buffed, primal and rough for Jardir. This is more of how I picture Enkido, Hasik or maybe one of the Drillmasters.

  5. Looks more like The Rock from The Scorpion King movie. Not remotely like Jardir, waaay too buff. Maybe another Krasian, but still iffy.

  6. I always pictured more of a Jet Li body than a Schwarzenegger body for Jardir. Fits well for any number of other Krasian characters.

  7. I see Jadir a bit less buff and not as mean looking. i agree with Caleb O’Brien he looks to much like the Rock form The Scorpion King.

  8. Yes. I’d punch this guy. He wouldn’t even feel it.
