Warded Wednesday: Pet Demons!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! You know how this goes.

Today we’re asking you to think about all the different corelings in the Demon Cycle world. Some can fly, others can swim, and none are very cute or cuddly.

That being said, the question for this week’s giveaway is:

If you could have any demon as a pet, which would it be?

Bonus points for letting us know your reasons. For example, I’d want a lightning demon around to charge up my phone/computer.

For a full list of wards, and their respective corelings, check out the Ward Grimoire.

  1. Without a doubt, a flame demon. Canadian winters get cold and with a flame demon as a pet, that would no longer be an issue.

  3. I live in a desert, and as you might suspect it can get pretty hot here. Cooling a house can get very expensive. Now you might expect I would want a snow demon. One might think that a wise choice, however, they only show up in cold climates and I don’t fair well in the heat. Sure, my neighbors have come up with some ingenious, if expensive, solutions to this problem. Transporting them in warded igloo coolers, insulating an entire room with expanding spray foam insulation then carving wards in there, and finally, a warded duct complete with fan to channel the air to the rest of the house. Who has that kind of money? Not me. I chose the smarter, and more budget friendly option, of flame demons. They love the heat of the desert, in fact, they thrive in it. Also, I happened to learn a fantastic, unique ward from Silvy Bales that turns flame spit into a blast of cool air! Can you believe it?! It has changed my life, and it’s portable!

  5. Definitely a flame demon. I live in England and the last few years our summers have been non-existent so………..with a flame demon I could have a halo of warm around me all through the summer so I can wear all my nice summer clothes. Don’t even mind if he disappeared in the winter – you’re supposed to be cold in the winter.

  6. Defintely a wind demon 😀

I could travel anywhere in the nights on the sky.
And i could use it as a cooler too in hot summer nights. Flap the wings and send cool air.
