Warded Wednesdays: Character Songs!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means. Yep, it’s time for our weekly giveaway!

I’ve been listening to a lot of (bad) music lately and I need some new tunes. Today we’re asking you to search your spotify/itunes/soundcloud/etc. and think about the characters in The Demon Cycle.

The question for this week is:

What song do you feel fits a character?

You can pick more than one. This is a chance to show off how well you know music and how well you know The Demon Cycle!

The prize for this giveaway is a Warded Man trade paperback!

  1. I’ve always heard Sober by Tool when thinking about Arlen. It’s a bit melancholy, I know but I feel the lyrics closely speak to Arlen’s need to draw in magics but his desire to simply go back to a time when Demon’s didn’t exist.

  2. I always associated Arlen with land of confusion by disturbed. He is Obe trying to get everyone to see that there is another way.

  3. Reflecting back on Arlen Bales’ struggle throughout the books I believe that See What I’ve Become by Zack Hemsey suits him. I feel that the song embodies his stolen innocence, his hunger for knowledge, and the hard life choices presented to him, forcing him to become the Warded Man. I think it also shows the agony of acceptance which the readers see when Arlen meets Renna gain and the beginning of him making peace with himself.

  10. I think the song “Mad World” by Gary Jules fits really well with Rojer, it echoes his sadness and confusion around all those who he has been close too and their untimely deaths
