Warded Wednesday: Favorite Lines

Hey everyone! One of the best things about The Demon Cycle are those little moments– The lines of dialogue or description that stick with you long after you’ve put the book down. These can be happy, sad, or just plain emotional. For example, one of my favorite lines is the very last one of Daylight War.
Yeah. That one.
For this week, we’re asking about those memorable moments:
What’s a line or short section in The Demon Cycle you find memorable and why?

Such a pivotal point in the relationship between Arlen and Jardir.

“Love nothing so much you cannot leave it at the bargaining table.”
I thought long and hard about this sentence when I first read it. It’s a rather complex statement. Depending on the school of thought with which you defend or argue against it, you can strongly agree AND disagree with this statement. It calls into question the nature and essence of love. From a negotiations vantage point, it is an excellent strategy with which to enter into negotiations. It’s a rather logical statement. It has Machiavellian tones. It is a labyrinthian sentence that made me ponder many things, not the least of which what PVB intended when he wrote it.

One of my favorite lines in the first book. The hag Bruna was a wise old lady for sure. This is indeed a very strong message specially for those who have been bullied. Never let yourself down just because of what other people say or think about who you are. Just be confident and be yourself! <3

Inevera is my favorite character, she would not have become who she is with out Qeva. I feel this quote was not only her push to be great, but what she falls back on countless times when times got hard.
As the rock demon collapsed into ashes soon borne on the morning wind, he saw hope for the human race.
Arlens thoughts when one arm was vanquished and the fighting wards were rediscovered.
