Name That Ward

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone… Want to play a game?

I thought I’d create something a little special for you today. It’s nearly October, the month of fright, which means it’s almost time for monsters and demons to roam among us. You’re going to need wards to protect yourself if you want to make it through the long nights ahead.

Ten wards are listed here. See how many you can name:

                                               1.unsight_ward

                                               2.undefined_ward

                                               3.piercing_ward

                                               4.heat_ward

                                               5.clay_ward_web

                                               6.confusion_ward

                                               7.fielddemon_ward

                                               8.sand_ward_web_sm

                                               9.mind_ward_web

                                               10.flame_ward_web

We’ll give everyone a moment…..

Are you ready? Take a moment to really think about it…..

Then check your answers below:

1. Unsight Ward
2. Light Ward
3. Piercing Ward
4. Heat Ward
5. Clay Ward
6. Confusion Ward
7. Field Ward
8. Sand Ward
9. Mind Ward
10. Flame Ward

Let us know how you did in the comments! Some of these were pretty tricky, so it’ll be interesting to see who has been paying attention.

For a full list of wards, you can always visit the Ward Grimoire.

One response to “Name That Ward”

  1. Having used the wards under Creations as reference for my drawings (I’m prone to bother with details – can’t put defensive wards on the edge of an axe, can I), I still have difficulty in remembering them. Some of them are easier, because you can kind of see a connection between the shape of the ward and its respective “role” (e.g. the bludgeon ward always reminded me of a fist, wood wards are rather tree-like, etc.). Others are more difficult, like the wards for rock, sand and clay, very similar looking (as explained in The Desert Spear).

So I think my score would be 4/10.
