Warded Man Movie (First Info)

Hey everyone! So. About that movie thing.

There’s been some hype blowing up about a Warded Man film, so let’s go ahead and lay down what exactly is going on…

Many of you know that there’s been talk of a Warded Man movie for some time now. It began back around 2010 when the series was optioned for film by Hollywood director Paul WS Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt.

Unfortunately, that option ended up falling through. There’s no bad blood on either side, it’s just show business 🙂

So this isn’t the first time The Demon Cycle has gotten to this point.

That being said! Spike Seldin and Hans Futterman’s New Harlem Partnership banner have acquired movie rights and we are optimistic. New Harlem is a wonderful team that is currently engaging with financiers and distribution partners for the project. If all goes according to plan… well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

For more info, you can check out some of the many articles floating around out there.

You can get your copy of The Skull Throne here!

  1. The idea of putting your words into visuals is exciting. But a TV series would be much more beneficial. No need to rush through storylines.

  2. I just almost jumped to the ceiling in the cafeteria of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama! Every time I see news about the film I get bouncy balls in my entire body. I’M SO BLOODY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!

  4. I am cautiously optimistic. I obviously know that a film/tv adaption could be amazing, however we have been burned before! As long as it doesnt go the road of ‘Legend of the Seeker’ and ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ it should be great.

  5. I have to agree with Jason. This series about the evolution of the characters, thats what makes it amazing. There’s no time for all that in movies. But a TV series that starts from their childhood, and follow them as they grow up, with some look back at the ‘older’ characters childhood like Inevera could make it perfect. Just look at the example of GOT.

  6. This is great news, however, I’ve already read the book, and the movie will be a disappointment after that. They always are 🙁
Its just that to make a movie means to cut many scenes and change some parts to fit a movie audience, but that could be solved. The real problem however, is that I vaguely picture certain things and scenes in my head as I read, while the director pictures something else. The vagueness is what makes the scene special in my head. Sometimes the director will get it better, but mostly, I prefer to keep my imagination “Pure”.
That doesn’t mean that I won’t be first in line at the movies though 😀

  9. please please please don’t let the people behind resident evil films fail us and you Peter! your world deserves a grand retelling through TV.
As previous people have said, it is an evolution of characters and their entire lives, a movie can’t do it justice, but i will love it no matter what because i love the stories you tell 🙂

  10. Honestly, I think you could stay away from the theater scene all together. Go with HBO/STARs or Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime. I love what they have done for GoT, WestWood, etc…etc… With the rise of these networks and their shows I think putting The Demon Cycles books would be prefect!

  11. I agree with Thomas Eral. A movie would be good, but a HBO series would be Awesome

  12. Yeah, HBO would be top notch, less restrictions on the material. I was just daydreaming about what the Director/team from GoT could do w/it (interesting things, no doubt!). Netflix would be great too.
