It would be nice to be able to attach files. The "Paste from Word" feature is pretty horrible.

David,
Any ideas for ranks for forum posters? Might be a nice bit of theater to grant a ward rank to frequent posters after reaching certain benchmarks. 20 posts, you get a ward, 50 some other ward to add to collection, etc?
Muh 2 cents
Well I have played an online text based game for a number of years, and they use a CP system – Community Points.
You get 2 points per post and 5 for creating a topic, as you reach new milestones you get more forum powers e.g. lvl 3 allows you to post images in the forum and use colours etc.
Down side, as mentioned below your post, is that you do get some 'spam' – this just means that we need a few active forum moderators to delete these posts (if your post is deleted you loose CP).

Well unless the forum software supports that or David is a coding guru I doubt that kind of points system is possible.
More suggestions from me.
Ditch the following forums as they kinda seem redundant given you already have pages dedicated to them.
News, Peephole, Character, Excisions and contacts.
The Creations forum perhaps relabelled Fan art.
The Miscellaneous forum perhaps relabelled as a General Forum (named after an Inn or the trading post) and any book related topics already in it moved to the book forums.
The Writing, General and other literature forums all under a Off Topic heading.
Also I may have missed this when I registered but was there a terms of use policy or any type of guidelines on behaviour? We may all play nice now but as the forum grows there will be problems and if you don't have a terms of use it makes it harder to moderate people and there posts.
I'd advise disabling html as well.
Ok no more from me

The links are too small and when replying to what sum1 had said, the writings displayed down the page, like a list rather than a paragraph. It makes me scroll constantly, and I loose track of where I am. Plus, it takes up space.

I have to agree with the above, bloody nightmare scolling through posts when the text goes like that. I am also picking up a problem database error.
I think once you have sorted out any clitches the cosmetics can come later.

Improved preview pane.
I am unable to see italics, url links, or unscores when I do a preview.

When i first tried updating my avatar to a cool red and black mind ward, it didnt work because i had already pressed the "update profile" button, and when i figured out i had to leave then come back to update it properly, it said the pic was already there and can't be done again.
I think you should make it so you can update your profile multiple times when altering things instead of having to leave and come back because your forgot something, it may not be big, but its still kinda annoying.
also The Warded Man and Desert Spear are the first books i've ever re-read in my life, good job on both. :D

I think the forum is great!
But yes, I, too have the problem with the files. I can't post any pictures or anything. All I can do is tiping and picking smilies.
For some reason the system doesn't work for me.

I was actually just coming on here to commend the html option, so I'll make my first point to dissagree on that there …. point.
Me second point is a suggestion; A prieview option.
While I know it can be annoying to have to go through a preview page, perhaps an optional prieview for folks like me, who like to double check, before sending things out?
Third: I am unsure if it is just that I'm missing it, or if it isn't actually there, but – Would it be possible to put the "New posts" images on the main forum page, as well as within the subtopics? 'cause I have just replied to a ton of posts I've not seen for a while/at all just 'cause I have never replied to them in the past. Sadness.
Think that's all I wanted to say right now. I love these forums, and they only seem to get better, heh.
{EDIT} Okay, apparently there is a preview thing, I'm just missing it. So perhaps a "Forum FAQ" should be my second point, as it would also cover my third, heh.

If at first you do succeed, try not to look too astonished.
