The Painted Man Fanmade RPG – Gameplay

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! For a long time, Jordie Bowen has been working on an amazing university project– a demon cycle RPG game. This is just awesome, especially since he’s been putting up content at each stage of development! Jordie has done a bunch of stuff from 2D sprites to trading cards to animatics.

Now we’re super excited to show off a video of actual gameplay from this project. Check it out:

I would be so pumped to play this!!

It turns out we actually have a bunch of gamer fans, and that is just so frikken neat. In the past we’ve gotten Warded Man skins for Skyrim and Minecraft and love hearing about Demon-Cycle-Inspired D&D and Homebrew games. Keep it up, and who knows? Maybe someday there will be an official Demon Cycle Video Game.

Ravenheart Award 2018: The Core

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! We’ve talked a lot about Demon Cycle covers over the years. From my ravings about Unused Covers to Peat’s series of blog posts entitled Evolution of a Cover, it’s pretty obvious we think that book covers are Cool and Important…

Which brings me to the Ravenheart Award. The Ravenheart Award is given to artist/s responsible for the year’s best fantasy book cover art, as chosen by open vote.

This year, our own Larry Rostant and Millennium FX Ltd have been nominated for his work in bringing Alagai Kai to life on the cover of The Core.

CoreV6

This is an amazing cover that Larry Rostant and Millennium FX Ltd really went all out on. We’re throwing our support behind them, not just because they did the Core for peat’s books, but because that cover is in and of itself COMPLETELY BADASS AND AWESOME.

The voting for Ravenheart’s longlist is open NOW. If you’d like to vote, head over to their official site and do it! The poll closes at midnight (GMT) on Friday 30th March.

Desert Spear Review– Lamoosh

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Today we’re excited to show off a unique sort of review from a user known only as lamoosh.

This review of The Desert Spear surprised me and made me laugh, which is enough to make me recommend checking it out!

Here I sit, before my typewriter, typing furiously, sweating into my Warded Underoos, an exceptionally loved copy of Peter V. Brett’s excellent sophomore novel The Desert Spear near to hand. Outside, demons pound at the wards on my door, howling with frustration; it sounds just like a death metal band has replaced their guitars with tubas filled up with rusty razor blades.

Thanks so much to lamoosh for taking the time to write about The Demon Cycle! You can read their full review here.

You can grab your own copy of The Desert Spear here.
