Hey everyone! The Australian bookstore QBD Books recently featured The Warded Man in one of their Book-A-Likes.
What’s a Book-A-Like? Book-A-Likes are where you take two books with similar themes and feature them side by side. This isn’t a compare and contrast so much as saying ‘Here is a thing! If you like this thing, you will like these books!’. Personally, I love the idea.

Remember Peat’s post about how The Core cover was made? In case you missed it, the folks at Voyager teamed up with Cliff Wallace at Millennium FX to create a model that would eventually become the fearsome Alagai Kai:
But what happened to the model after its debut? Well, there were a few hilariousTweets leading up to the reveal of the Core Cover in which Alagai played a starring role. After that, it was wrapped up and shipped out… Straight to Peat’s home.
Peat took a picture to commemorate the new addition to his household. Who do you think has the better snarl?
Funfact: I thought this picture was exaggerating how big the demon was with clever perspective tricks. It is not. I’ve seen that thing in person and its head really is that much larger than Peat’s. It’s terrifying.
Now Alagai Ka lives in Peat’s office, watching over his shoulder as he finishes his final revisions on The Core.
There’s nothing like a spiny demon staring at you to say ‘Welcome home… now get to work’.
