Warded Wednesday: Which Demon Are You Winner!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Last week we asked you to put yourself in the figurative shoes of a demon. We had a bunch of great answers, but there can only be one winning entry! Without further ado, check it out:

I would be a Mind Demon because while I’m not strong I am cunning and solve problems. I use my mind the most and I feel that a mind demon would suit that. I also hate the dreaded day star and would love if it were dark more! -Melissa

Congratulations, Melissa! I’m a night owl myself, so I can relate (please don’t take over my brain). We’ll be contacting you shortly about your prize.

Our next Warded Wednesday is TOMORROW. Be sure to check it out! In the meantime, there were a bunch of other entries that deserve a look-see:

I think I would have to be the almighty Mimic Demon. This way I could take the form of all other Demons in order to create confusion between my fellow opponents. I would have the ability to quickly change form during a fight, forcing my challenger to think quickly on their feet in order to find a ward that could defeat me. -An Open Mind

I would be the queen coreling, this way I will know what happens when the delivers penetrate the core and won’t need to wait for the book to be published -Stinga

Gotta go with Mind Demon. Can’t see any other ones being computer geeks. -Justin

Being a single male with the culinary skills of a caveman, I had to eat boiled eggs exclusively for the last 3 days in a row. Its quite safe to say I have enough methane in me to be a Rock-Sized Flame demon.
If I read this question 3 days ago, I would have picked a Sand demon ? -Khaled

I would be a Flame Demon! -Kami

I’d be a rock demon. They’re proper bad ass. It must feel good to launch boulders into the air and smash through walls. -Jacy

Thanks so much to everyone who sent in their submissions! If you have any suggestions for future Warded Wednesday questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Holiday Party: Recap

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone!

Happy 4th of July!!! This year’s festivity-planning got me thinking about previous celebrations. With that in mind, I wanted to do a blast-from-the-past event post that never made it onto the site. Enjoy!

Due to the cancellation of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Publishing Reception (affectionately known as the “Mill & Swill”), Peat decided to host a holiday party himself. This party took place in December of 2015 and was open to the Scifi/Fantasy author and publishing community.

We held the Holiday part at The Society of Illustrators Townhouse, which has hosted the SFWA Publishing Reception in the past. Some of the highlights included good food, great drinks, and a cash bar, with a special cockail menu.

There was also free swag, door prizes and a book swap! I contributed Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (a classic, I know). In return, I got to pick up Alice by Christina Henry. Alice came out last August and was well worth the read.

Spoiler: Peat contributed This Alien Shore by C.S. Friedman, so if you’re looking for a good Scifi title, consider checking it out.

A veritable smorgasbord of amazing authors, artists, and industry pros came to the party. Best of all, all money was spent in support of a great cause as proceeds benefited the Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Fund.

Hey everyone! Have you ever had a question regarding The Demon Cycle? Well now’s your chance to ask it…

Peat has been cherry-picking interviews lately, but he agreed to answer some questions from Geek Chic Elite:

Yesterday, Geek Chic Elite gave a call-out on Twitter for fans to send in anything they might want to know. If you’ve got a question, now is the perfect time to respond to this tweet and ask!

I’ve had a sneak-peek at some of the questions being poised, and I for one can’t wait to get the answers!

Fanart: Warded Power Bars!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Unconventional fanart is awesome. I cannot tell you how much I love looking at all Peat’s pictures of warded plates/pumpkins/lanterns/etc.

On that note, Peat’s superfan Mia has once again surprised us with something totally new.

These came in awhile ago, but they definitely deserve a mention. Every time Mia sends something in, it’s amazing. She’s wowed us with everything from warded models to bags to baked goods to just about anything else you can think of.

This time, for Peat’s birthday and Demon Cycle Day, Mia mailed in a box of super-nutritious Demon Cycle Power Bars!

Feel free to check out more of Mia’s awesome fanart. If you book talk and awesome craft/baking stuff, you can also follow her on Twitter.
