Warded Wednesday: Favorite Ward Winner!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! It’s time to announce the results of last week’s Warded Wednesday.

Once again, the selection was random. This week’s winner got points for giving a reason for their choice:

My favourite ward would have to be the Flame Demon ward. To me, it appears to dance and shimmer with heat and tongues of fire.

Congratulations, Jono! We’ll be contacting you shortly about your prize.

Check out some of the other entries we got!

My favourite ward would have to be ‘Light’. Visually it looks similar to the Japanese hiragana character ?. It is the phonetic character ‘o’ and can be defined as ‘Honourable’. I think that the visual relationship between the Japanese character and the ‘Light’ ward to be more than coincidental as honour is frequently represented by light. -Ben

Gotta go with Pressure. I like how calligraphy-like it is and the way it gets used in the series just really cements who Arlen is and what he does. -Justin

Visually my favourite ward is the Wind Demon Ward. It looks like a giant dragon-like creature beating its wings to stand in mid-air, tail extended towards the ground. Also (I don’t know why) it looks purple to me, like the night and there is something terrifyingly majestic about it. -FP

Thanks so much to everyone who sent in their submissions! Our next Warded Wednesday is TOMORROW, so if you have any suggestions for future Warded Wednesday questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

German Interview Podcast

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! On Peat’s German Tour, he did a bunch of interviews. One of them was with the awesome people at SF-Fantasy.de who recorded it in podcast form! Volker spearheaded the interview and did an absolutely amazing job.

GermanInterview

You can find the whole interview here along with dual-language introduction text and a German synopsis. I’m listening to it right now and the quality (both sound and questions) are really good.

There’s only a few days left to take advantage of Badali’s April sale on Demon Cycle Jewelry. You can check that out here!

Dream Covers Exhibition

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! The Dream Covers Exhibition is just what it sounds like. And it is AWESOME. Here’s how it’s going down…

Lauren Panepinto is curating a gallery show where famous professional artists paint their “Dream Covers”. They pick beloved novels and re-imagine covers for them. Artist Allen Williams (who, among other things, designs Kaiju for Pacific Rim) chose to do Warded Man.

Peat dragged Myke Cole to see it while they were in town for Emerald City ComiCon and it was seriously amazing:
