Demon Cycle Day: Recap

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! This year marked our very first Demon Cycle Day. Putting together these kinds of events takes a lot of effort and we couldn’t be more grateful to Peat’s publishers, Del Rey and Harper Voyager, for putting it all together.

Seriously. Demon Cycle Publishers are the best Publishers.

The event was incredible, so I wanted to take today’s post to look back on all the awesomeness that went down.

First of all was the prep work. This included announcements on social media (and some blog posts by yours truly). Del Rey also sent out a bunch of books, two at a time, to be given to friends/siblings/complete strangers/etc. on Demon Cycle Day.

After that, the party really got started. People chatted and hashtagged and genuinely seemed to be excited for it! We got lots of pictures from fans of their Demon Cycle swag. Here are some of the lucky winners of Del Rey’s Warded Man special mailing:

We also got to see a few winners of our Selfie Contest getting their prizes. It must have been Inevera that they would come in on Demon Cycle Day:

Del Rey then decided to extend Demon Cycle Day with ANOTHER giveaway, this time for hardcover editions of The Warded Man. Ten winners were chosen and Peat went in to sign every single one. He brought along his other assistant to help out.

All in all, I’d say Demon Cycle Day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who participated. Del Rey and Harper Voyager have put so much time and effort into making this day a success and it definitely paid off! Special shoutout Ann and Katie at Harper Voyager for helping to make the magic happen.

The Demon Cycle: Literary Valentine!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Happy day-after-Valentine’s-Day. Or as I like to call it, cheap candy day. Hope you all are having a good one and not nursing too much of a chocolate hangover!

Yesterday Peat’s long-time fan Mia put up a series of Literary Valentines, one of which featured The Demon Cycle:

The strong, silent type: Arlen from ‘s DEMON CYCLE books. Definitely not a vegetarian!

Literary Valentines are a fantastic idea! Definitely something I’ll have to keep in mind for a contest next year. In the meantime, let’s have some fun with it. I know Valentine’s Day is technically over, but stores are still bursting with heart-shaped everything, so let’s go ahead and do this thing!

I’ll start by saying I’d ask Kendall to be my Literary Valentine because she seems like someone I could have fun with.

This isn’t an official contest or anything, but I’m genuinely curious. Who would your Demon Cycle Literary Valentine be? Feel free to answer in the comments.

The Warded Man: Phantomant Review

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Tim is a fledgling reviewer from the website Phantom Ant where he reviews Sci-Fi and Fantasy. His most recent review, at the time this post is being written, was The Warded Man. Overall, Tim had some great things to say:

The author takes the time to build the characters. I love a good coming of age book but this goes way beyond that… One of My All Time Favorite Series

The full review is nicely balanced, giving some overall summary, but without any major spoilers. Tim gave it 4.5 Phantom Ants (they’re exactly what you think they are) out of 5. If you have some free time and want to check out an upcoming reviewer, go ahead and take a look. See if you agree.
