I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Hannah’s drawing of Rojer is gorgeous. Love the composition, love the details, all in all a great winning entry.

Kaede-Leesha really stepped up the game with a full-fledged Leesha cosplay.

Róbert has been a terrific fan of The Demon Cycle for awhile now. You might remember him from his Skyrim Character Redesigns. He put out a teaser of his artwork just a few days before the contest was announced and we’re so glad he finished in time to enter!

Skull Throne Paperback Contest: Demons and dogs!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Today marks the last round of entries for our Skull Throne Paperback Contest contest before we pick the winners. This contest has been awesome until now and it’s not over yet! See what our final entrants have made (Spoiler: it’s pretty cool!).

Our first submission of this bunch is a two-for-one from a Hungarian fan. Júlia sent in a picture of the vest she warded for her dog as well as a truly epic photo manipulation:

In the darkest night, sorrounded by corelings, our only hope is Blue Bales, the Warded Dog.

(No dogs were harmed in the making of this picture :D)

Great craftsmanship, Júlia! The flow of the symbols are perfect. With those wards glowing in the night, Blue Bales will be the fiercest demon hunter on four legs. Absolutely gorgeous work. And stylish too!

Next up is István’s awesome poem. Check it out!

This is the only piece of writing we got for the Skull Throne Paperback Contest and it didn’t disappoint. Great job, István!

Our final submission is from Rosa, who sent in this gorgeous painting entitled Waiting For Sunset:

The use of color is amazing! From the dark grays and red eyes of the demon to the bright pink pastels of the setting sun. It shows the final moments before a demon goes out to hunt. Great job, Rosa!

With this post up, we’ve got all the entries for the Skull Throne Paperback Contest contest accounted for. A huge thanks to everyone who sent in their work, we love seeing all the amazing creativity and effort you’ve put into your submissions. The winners for this contest, as well as Peat’s Selfie Contest on social media, will be announced next week!

Skull Throne Paperback Contest: Arlen and Rojer!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! The Skull Throne Paperback Contest is officially over, but we have a few more entries to show off before announcing the winners. We’re thrilled at all the creativity that went into these submissions. Seriously. Fans of The Demon Cycle are the best fans.

First up, we have an amazing drawing of Arlen (or should I say Arlens?) sent in by Eve. Check it out!

This is an awesome. The expressions are great and I love how small and vulnerable young Arlen looks inside his ward circle. Plus I’m a sucker for cross-hatching. It’s obvious a lot of effort was put in, especially with all those individual wards! Absolutely fantastic drawing.

Our next submission was sent in by Hannah:

Attached is my entry for this UK cover of Skull Throne. Seeing as it’s for this specific book, I decided to dedicate this entry to Rojer Halfgrip Inn.

The sketch I had illustrated is of Rojer peacefully playing his fiddle inside his medallion, which he carries at all times. I chose to represent one of my favourite characters from this series alongside the people that meant so much to him, carved onto this metal. I hope you like it.

Seriously gorgeous work here. The layout is great and I’m especially impressed with the detailing on the fiddle.

Thanks so much to Eve and Hannah for sending in their entries! This contest yielded some truly spectacular works of art. Both these pictures are stunning and there’s still more to come! Look forward to one last batch of stellar submissions soon. As of today, the plan is to have winners announced next week.

My Escape From Reality: Review

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Peat did an interview with Alex from minha-fuga-da-realidade (translated as my-escape-from-reality) to mark the Darkside’s release of The Desert Spear in Portuguese.

MyEscapeFromReality

Alex has been a delight to work with and we were so glad to be featured on the site.

Recently, we found out that Alex took the time to write a stellar review of O Protegido as their first review of 2016.

It is certainly one of the best fantasy series that have emerged this century. DarkSide nailed it when they brought this series to Brazil. Along with its quality standards above anyone, this book is a must for all fans of the genre.

Thanks so much to Alex for reaching out to us and for being such an awesome fan of The Demon Cycle!

Skull Throne Paperback Release/Demon Cycle Kindle Bundle!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! We’re psyched to announce that, as of today, The Skull Throne is officially on sale in paperback. It’s gorgeous and portable and I want twenty.

dreamlittle-nontransparent

This release also affects The Demon Cycle eBooks! Some of you might remember that Holiday Kindle sale that ended on January 5th. It was awesome, but also exclusive to the UK.

Fortunately for the rest of us, there’s more than one way to kill a coreling.

If you’re interested in owning your own digital demons, have no fear! Starting today, The Demon Cycle Kindle Bundle will be using the reduced paperback price of Skull Throne. That means you can get all four novels cheaper in one easy-to-download bundle!

EDIT: The bundle link has been fixed! A big thank you to everyone who pointed it out to us.

dreamlittle-nontransparent

This is a great option for those of you who have limited shelf space or who want to help corelings take over the internet.

I recommend warding your computers thoroughly before downloading anything. Just in case.

Reminder: The Skull Throne Paperback Contest ends TONIGHT! If you have any last-minute submissions, please send them to contest@www.petervbrett.com.
