Stunning! The black wards on the red background is very striking.

Awesome idea! Demons, aliens … same stuff! The Doctor and Arlen would make an interesting team-up.

Paulina chose to ward fruit. Here’s why:

I tend to mark my food with Impact rune so no “Lunch stealing” demon can put it’s claws on it. If it tries…well. We all know what happens. Today it’s a banana.

Those pesky lunch stealing demons!

Olga has a new product to market. Check out her pitch:

This coreling charmer will knock plenty of otherworldly (hypothetical) socks off with a haunting tin whistle melody. Bound to confuse the average coreling enough to evade and escape. Available for hire. Enquire at the Half Moon Inn.

I will take three!

Michael submits his ambitious entry … Anoch Sun!

Beautiful. I love the wards, the detail of the spear and the quote that completes it all!

We will be picking winners this week! Stay tuned.

Warding Contest: From Tattoos to Weapons

Posted by Meg

Hurry! Today is the last day of the Warding Contest! If you’ve got a person, place or thing you want to ward, send it in by midnight tonight! We will be picking winners later this week.

Here are some of the fantastic entries we have already received:

From Judd:

I have warded a dart board, against Dwarves trying to steal my darts. it’s more of a problem then one would think. The runes may be out of sync but the power in old words…the first words remains.

Judd Warded Dartboard

Complete with a demon! Awesome, Judd. Thanks for entering!

Next, Mat enters with a new warding concept altogether …

No longer are we at the mercy of overworked warders. With stick-on-wards, even a drunk can turn everyday items into protections from the night. So set up your ward circle, curl up with a good book, and prepare yourself for a long night.

Hilarious, yet effective.

All I can say is  …. awesome. What a fantastic cosplay.

All the way from Portugal, Helena’s boyfriend made her this beautiful warded box and weapon:

Helena Warded Spear HelenaWarded Box

Wow! What a magical gift. Thanks for sharing, Helena.

Check out these adorable and delicious looking warded cookies from Marilag:

I thought about sending a picture of the old warded cookies I’d posted up on my blog, but figured they needed an upgrade, chocolate being a key component that was missing in the previous manifestation. I kind of like these warded cookies better. They taste like those glazed chocolate munchkins in Dunkin Donuts but in the form and texture of Soft Cookie, and pack quite a punch (’cause, you know, some of these are offensive wards, har har). I even made two versions of Arlen in The Warded Man (for no other reason than the fact that I was scared I’d mess him up the first time–which I did, since he was more adorable-looking and less crazy-intimidating).

I am not sure I could bring myself to eat those beautiful cookies! Especially the adorably stubborn looking Arlen versions! Well done!

And finally, from Dakota, another stunning tattoo:

Wow. So many fantastic entries to the contest. It’s going to be very difficult to pick winners!! You can check out all the entries so far over on our Facebook Album.

Warding Contest: Everything & Anything!

Posted by Meg

The Warding Contest will be coming to a close this week, but we’ve still got a bunch of stellar entries to show off. Check ’em out:

Simon, who entered last week, helped his daughter with her awesome contest entry:

My 9 year-old was so enthused by the entry i put in earlier in the week that she wanted to enter one herself. She picked the object to ward and what wards she liked best and where to put them (she showed a scary aptitude for where the cutting ones should go). I drew the outlines for her and she coloured them in. For when you are feeling peckish and have those demons on the run I give you the antipodean demon hunting boomerang. Fully operational.

That’s one useful weapon! I love the detailed black wards against the red-painted back drop.

Basia used her culinary skills to create some delightful, magical treats:

Delicious and chock full of power!

David warded his favorite bag:

Messengers everywhere will want one!

Justin wanted to keep his fish safe after nightfall:

I love these wards! So cool how they come alive at night.

And finally, something very special! Polish fan Marzena and her fiance Mateuz created some spectacular geeky invites to their upcoming wedding. And the invitations were sealed with some wax wards for extra protection!

As my entry, I would like to present something that is very special to me – my wedding invitations! Along with my fiancé Mateusz Hoppe, we have designed and printed out our own geeky-themed invitations inspired by some of our favorite fandoms, such as the Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, and of course the Demon Cycle.
