Back when Peat was finishing up the manuscript for The Skull Throne, he got distracted after choreographing a fight scene with his action figure collection. The result was lots of action figure dance parties. Other twitter users sent in their action figure collections partying, and a mini-contest was born!
Sometimes reviews, especially bad reviews, can be a little dramatic. Worldbuilders put together this hilarious mash-up of fantasy authors reading 1-star reviews of their own books. Peat starts us off with a dramatic reading of a Warded Man review. But keep watching! Cassie makes an appearance with her own reading towards the end.
For those of you not familiar with Worldbuilders, it is a charity founded by fantasy author Patrick Rothfuss that supports Heifer International. You can read more about Worldbuilders and what they do here.

Subterranean Press has two amazing options for this nifty novella. The first is a limited edition (only 750 copies printed), signed and numbered and bound in leather with a cover by Vincent Chong. The second is the trade edition, bound in cloth, with a cover by Lauren K. Cannon, who has illustrated a number of Demon Cycle artworks in the past. Both editions include beautiful interior illustrations by Lauren K. Cannon.

The Skull Throne manuscript is complete and World Fantasy is over. What is Peat doing now?
@PVBrett – Sometimes I think I should make custom warded checks for my business expenses. Then I try to remember the last time I wrote a check…
@PVBrett – .@scalzi I’ve already half written the epic survival story after our train to Boston is snowed in tonight. Spoiler: cannibalism @laurenalexg
@PVBrett – Eating wasabi peas & the vapor went into my sinuses, making me sneeze. Mouth was full, so I covered it and wasabi went up my nose. #owfuck
@PVBrett – OMFG @laurenalexg‘s Black Friday sandwiches are officially my favorite food. Whole Thanksgiving dinner in each bite. http://t.co/znSHGhWPXS
@PVBrett – Introduced @laurenalexg‘s nephew to @robinhobb at NY ComicCon & got him an Assassin’s Apprentice. Month later, kid’s already read them all.
@PVBrett – Living in sin, I am known to @laurenalexg‘s niece and nephew as “half-uncle”, AKA “Hunkle”. I am ok with this.
@PVBrett – Not only does iOS Lego DC make you PURCHASE female characters, you have to REPURCHASE every time you start a new game. Tax on girl players.
@PVBrett – Want to limit Cassie’s in-app purchases but should she have to EARN playing as a girl when boys get full immersion as the default? Bullshit.
@PVBrett – Just received spam offering to give me the secret to writing stories in my spare time for extra cash. Um…
@PVBrett – I feel so perpetually busy that taking time to read feels like a selfish activity. This is no way to go about a life well lived.
@PVBrett – Watched Guardians of the Galaxy with Cassie again this wekend. Perfect excuse to repost our #gotg#grooting video. http://t.co/EDxtz4ibNw
@PVBrett– Despite my best intentions, I may be turning into a grumpy old man.
@PVBrett– I am the thing that goes grump in the night.
Now that Peat is done with the manuscript, it’s time to get to the details of The Skull Throne. You know all those nifty little avatars at the beginning of each chapter? Peat draws each of these by hand. And with new characters, new avatars need to be created!
