Ward Book

Posted by Meg

Looking for a handy guide of wards when you’re on the go? Zuza from Poland has you covered. A beautiful book containing 19 wards when all is said and done, Zuza has definitely proved her creativity. Here’s what she has to say:

I’m too young to tattoos, I’ve got two left hands for a painting and drawing (i can only draw a profile of the Labrador Retriever and some sketches on my math exercise book) and i can’t such fluently write in english. So i’ve made a decision to make my first, unique “Book of wards”.

When I meet a demon I can’t stop and say to him: Hold on maaan! Give me a sec, I need to find a wi-fi and look for a wards on P.V.B. site… He probably eat me very soon and cut my head off. The best option for me could be a little book. This is a notebook size of a hand where I included 19 wards. The first part is about wards against the demons, the second one has got attack wards.

Warded Cuff and Candle

Posted by Meg

Shaun has sent in a beautiful double entry of a warded cuff and candle holder. The effect of the candlelight shining through the carved wards is magical.

Check out what Shaun had to say:

Decided to try a different approach to warding and made myself a warded candle surround and a warded arm brace. The arm brace is made from a leather-effect material with the wards engraved in to the surface whilst the candle surround has been produced from offcuts of pine and plywood, with the wards cut out of the material to let the candle light through.

First Law Graphic Novel Giveaway

The First Law graphic novel

Fan of Joe Abercrombie? Then you may know about his awesome graphic novel project. Since April of 2013, Joe has been posting new “pages” online of a graphic novel version of his series The First Law. You can buy the first volume digitally at ComiXology as well as subsequent volumes. But if you were hankering for a hardcopy of the novel, you were out of luck … until now.

The print version of The First Law graphic novel is now on sale over at Blind Ferret with an introduction by Peat, who happens to know a lot about fantasy and comics. We are giving away 1 copy of The First Law to the person who best answers this question:

If Peat and Joe were to make a mashup graphic novel, what would it be called?

Leave your answers in the comments!
