This post features some of the most dedicated and generally badass fans out there. These are the guys who permanently etch themselves with wards or other creative Demon Cycle images. Peat has said time and time again what an honor it is to see how many people choose to commemorate their love of the books this way.

Carol Hinds, who has also done other spectacular Demon Cycle artwork, got these wards on her shoulders as well as a string of wards on her back.

Glen interlocked his wards for a Greatward effect. No demons getting through there. 

Nadine’s wrist tattoo casually leaning over the German translation of The Great Bazaar

Mark tattooed both of his arms for a total of six ward tattoos!

Maria’s leg now sports the full cover art from the French translation of The Warded Man

Greg’s seriously awesome warded tri-force. Two of the best things combined. 

Kyle got a whole arm warded! He’s ready for battle, I’d say.

While poking around the seriously awesome Thesan Wiki (if you haven’t checked it out yet, you totally should), Peat stumbled across this older piece of fan art by Matthew. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think I’ve posted this particular Arlen and Dancer combo. And even if I have, it’s worth a second posting. Check it out.

I love the detail of the wards, both in Twilight Dancer’s armor and Arlen’s skin. Beautifully done and a perfect picture for the Wiki.

Check out this beautiful, colorful new Damajah fan art that popped up on DeviantArt the other day.

This is an extremely badass portrayal of Inevera … I mean, she standing in a freaking fire. I love the magical elements that are woven in: the green swirls, the faint wards on her thighs and the glowing gold outfit. Thank you to grotesque-inc for sharing this beautiful image.

New York Comic Con is this weekend!

I dunno about you, but that’s better than Christmas so far as I’m concerned. A whole weekend of costumes, books, comics, spectacle, and good friends/loved ones.

As if that wasn’t awesome enough, Lauren has been picking outfits all week, having set the bar quite high last year with her couture Batman dress, home-made Dazzler costume, and classic Supergirl. If you were at the con last year, you probably saw her and didn’t notice me as that random guy standing next to her:

Some awesomeness is in store for this year, and she will have a pair of 11 year old costumed sidekicks, to boot.

I have some updates on my events:

NYCC 2013 – Javits Center, New York City

Thursday October 10th-Sunday October 13th

I’ll be wandering around all weekend, even when I don’t have events. I stop at the Random House booth (2204/2205) fairly regularly, and you can often find me hanging out there chatting with people. Don’t be shy! Happy to chat or sign books so long as I’m not running off to an appointment or doing an interview.

Monsters, Zombies…and everything else that’s out to eat you alive

Join David Wellington, Richard Kadrey, Adam Mansbach, Paolo Bacigalupi, Peter Brett and Jonathan Maberry, as they discuss how they create believable monsters and which beings haunt their own dreams.
