Peat said on Twitter that if Al had entered it on time, it would have been a shoe-in for the win.

Tweephole #21

Some awesome summer updates this year: the release of the new short story ‘Mud Boy’ in the Unfettered Anthology edited by Shawn Speakman, the Cosplay Contest and the winners of the Favorite Fan Art Contest.

  • @PVBrett – I shouldn’t have to spend hours on eBay hunting down the rare female Superhero Squad figures so my daughter can have an even split. @marvel.
  • @PVBrett – It’s not Comic-Con, but it’ll do. It’ll do.

Not Comic Con

  • @PVBrett – Sometimes I randomly recall a dumb thing I did in like 4th grade & get momentarily embarrassed/angry with myself all over again. Am I alone?
  • @PVBrett – I now share a publisher with @LordGrimdark in my three biggest markets. Not sure how this affects the whole “mortal enemy” thing…
  • @PVBrett – Man, I wish I was at San Diego Comic-Con. RT @io9: The Most Astounding Cosplay We’ve Seen at Comic-Con (So Far):http://t.co/NgmB411R2y
  • @PVBrett – Almost resigned myself to missing my ?#?SkullThrone? quota this week, but I locked myself in and cranked out 2368 words. Best week yet!
  • @PVBrett – This is why you don’t give up. Because sometimes even when the odds are against, you win.
  • @PVBrett – Love this hashtag! RT @JohnStyles1: @PVBrett I believe in your books ?#?SpreadingTheGoodWard?
  • @PVBrett – My favorite redhead turned five today! http://t.co/9z4GMiykV0

Cassie turns 5

  • @PVBrett – Up all night with a sick kid. It’s like being hung over without the fun part.
  • @PVBrett – Pat Rothfuss, @brentweeks @TrudiCanavan and I are all weeping over the failure of our ‘cliche’ book covers: http://t.co/EIzcf2WVrJ
  • @PVBrett – Yes, Amazon. OF COURSE I want to share on Facebook and twitter how I just purchased new swim trunks! Who wouldn’t? http://t.co/xjxd6YHszr
  • @PVBrett – Wow, they even embossed my quote! Fancy. RT @James_Bostock: New book to read, taking your recommendation @PVBrett http://t.co/HRGLTUKXW4

  • @PVBrett – Tomorrow I go on vacation, and attempt to turn off the internet for a week. Hold me, twitter. I’m scared.
  • @PVBrett – Every time I look at an NYC apartment listing, I immediately calculate the distance to the closest book and comic shops.
  • @PVBrett – So deserved! CONGRATULATIONS MUR! RT @howardtayler: Wept openly when my friend @mightymur won the Campbell. I regret nothing. #hugowards
  • @PVBrett – Writing during the move would lead to a nervous breakdown resulting in less future writing as well. Make up for it when I have a home again.
  • @PVBrett – At this stage of the move I just want to throw all my possessions on a bonfire and start fresh. Maybe keep my ipad…
  • @PVBrett – Pointless to try and keep ice cream frozen during the move, right? I should just eat it, right? Right? #crickets
  • @PVBrett – Ditto. RT @SheerJenius: @PVBrett The Shannara books were my very first foray into Fantasy, thanks to my 7th grade teacher. Forever grateful!
  • @PVBrett – I have a treasure trove of awesome stuff to post over the next couple of weeks, culminating in a fun surprise when TDW mmpb comes out
  • @PVBrett – Books are meant to be read. Even rare, signed, valuable ones. Buying a book with no intention to read it denies its raison d’etre.
  • @PVBrett – Grabbed a copy of The Painted Man to look something up. Ended up reading 3 chapters. Real page turner, that book…
  • @PVBrett – I hope one day in the near future we look back at all the goddamn passwords we had to remember and laugh like we do about the rotary phone.

Incredible Renna Cosplay at Polcon

Posted by Meg

Remember how awesome Polcon was last year? Well, it looks like it just got better.

Polish fan Lucja decided to cosplay as Renna Tanner, in an AMAZING costume. Here’s what she had to say about it:

The costume was made by me and my mother, and make-up by my sister Joanna. The whole photo session was made by my friend Cecylia. There are over 200 photos from this session, but we picked up

our top 11 (we’re sending You one more – the funny one).

03.Hunts demons... 04....and kills them... 02.Everyday life... 01.Show me your better profile

06. ...practises 05....searches for food... 07. In her free time...

08....adimres the views... 09....and reads her favourite books! 10.What a strange kind of demon...

What kind of strange demon is this?

11.No more photos! Photographer is dead.

No more photographs! The photographer is dead …

This is an awesome cosplay. The warding is beautiful and the costume is spot on, from her face to the warded knife. Totally overwhelmed by the level of creativity here.

Were you at Polcon? Any awesome photos or stories to share?
