Fanart: Gunnar Wilke’s Rock Demons

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone!

It’s day three of checking out the amazing work of the Students of the Gunnar Wilke School. They were kind enough to share their interpretations of the Demon Cycle Demons with us, and we’re going to share it with you!

Today we’re showing you Rock Demons of all shapes and sizes, and all extremely deadly!

To start the day, look at Diana’s terrifying Rock Demon. With those long claws and terrifying teeth, no wonder people hide behind Wards! Great job!

Hannah Did some clever work with white, and made a fierce Rock Demon ready to chomp down on the nearest human! I love the expression and use of white lines!

Janine’s Rock Demon is full of deadly spines. That’s one Demon you wouldn’t want to mess with!

Finally, Robin’s demon comes with a club-tail that could smash your home to bits. Make sure your Wards are nice and clear if you think it’s nearby!

Thanks so much to the Students of Gunnar Wilke for sharing with us. All your works are so amazing, and it’s such a pleasure to get to show them off! Tomorrow we’ll be continuing with enough Wind Demons to ruffle anyones feathers. Until then, keep your Wards up!

Fanart: Gunnar Wilke Fire Demons and One Arms

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone!

Today is day two of checking out the amazing work of the Students of the Gunnar Wilke School. They were kind enough to share their interpretations of the Demon Cycle Demons with us, and we’re going to share it with you!

Today we’re finishing up the Fire Demons and looking at some designs for One Arm. Let’s take a look:

This first piece was sent in by a mystery student, and shows off Fire Demons as small, sharp toothed fiends! I love the way the artist put glow in its eyes and decided the teeth would be black. Awesome!

Another mystery creator has a very interesting take on what Fire Demon could look like. To some of you, it might look familiar. While I wouldn’t recommend trying to catch a Fire Demon, using a Cyndiquil to represent what you think a Fire Demon looks like is pretty funny!

Next up, we have a rocking interpretation of the Rock Demon One Arm by Leonie! I love those eyes!

To end out the day, we have this One Arm by Lea! I love the teeth and the hunch of that back. Great work!

Thanks to all the students we’ve featured today. I love seeing all these different ways you imagine Demons! Tomorrow we get to take a look at even more awesome Demon drawings by the Gunnar Wilke students. Stay tuned!

Fanart: Demons by the Gunnar Wilke School

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone!

A while ago, we had the pleasure of receiving fanart from the Students of the Gunnar Wilke School, who were kind enough to let us see all their amazing interpretations of the Demons from The Painted Man. For the next several days, we’ll be looking at the creative and varied ways these fantastic students have imagined and re-imagined them!

Lily and Elban collaborated to make a vicious Fire Demon with a skeletal-like body and wicked awesome horns!

Lisa created a monstrous Fire Demon with a wicked tail and teeth!

Next up, Robin made a Fire Demon that could light up anything with just a touch!

To end out the day, check out the Draconic Fire Demon Britta created! Those deadly spines, claws, and teeth are something to be feared!

These are such amazing interpretations of Fire Demons! But we have a lot more! Tomorrow we get to see the works of other students, and their interpretations of what more Demons look like. Stay tuned for more!

Monday Schedule for Worldcon 2019

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone!

Today is the final day of Worldcon 2019! Peat is attending the convention, and you’ll still be able to see him today if you’ve missed the other events he was a part of. Here’s the schedule for today!

Worldcon 2019  – August 15-19, 2019, Dublin, Ireland

Monday (August 19)

Panel – Judging a Cover By its Book

An artist doesn’t always read the novel they’re illustrating a cover for, and even when they do they can make mistakes. Sometimes it’s just funny; other times it’s outrageous. What are the worst mistakes you’ve seen on covers, or when has a cover completely misrepresented the story it’s supposed to be selling?

When: 12:30 – 13:20
Where: Alhambra (Point Square Dublin)
Who: Peter V. Brett along with Celine Kiernan, Cat Marsters, and Rob Carlos

If you’re at Worldcon, please feel free to stop by this final event! We’re super excited to see you all there, and thanks to WorldCon 2019 and all you fans for this a great experience!
