Hey everyone! While browsing through Instagram, I stumbled across a user aptly named thebedsidetablebook who had recently started a lovely tradition of reading a bit of THE WARDED MAN every morning at breakfast.

This is an awesome idea and the pictures coming from it are just beautiful. Check them out:

Upcoming Appearances: Worldcon 2019

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! We’re pleased to announce that Peat’s going to Worldcon 2019. He’ll be in Dublin along with many other lovely authors. Here are the events he’s got planned:

Worldcon 2019  – August 15-19, 2019, Dublin, Ireland

Thursday (August 15)

Panel I Know My Worth: The Women of Marvel Movies

Marvel properties on the big screen have often been lambasted as having poorly conceptualised depictions of women: is this deserved? From the introduction of Black Widow through the animated Spider Gwen and now Captain Marvel as a leading lady, have women acquired better stories or just more screen time? What still needs improving? And how do the Marvel women compare to the critical acclaim of DC’s Wonder Woman?

When: 17:00 – 17:50
Where: Wicklow Hall 2B (CCD)
Who: Peter V. Brett along with Debra Jess, Benjamin, Rosenbaum, Karina Steffens, and Ms Cassie Parkes.

Friday (August 16)

Autographing Session

When: 10:00 – 10:50
Where: Level 4 Foyer (CCD)
Who: Peter V. Brett along with Jo Walton, Michael Cassutt, and R.F. Kuang

Saturday  (August 17)

Coffee Klatch –’Kaffeeklatsch’

When: 12:00 – 12:50
Where: Level 3 Foyer (KK/LB) (CCD)
Who: Peter V. Brett

Monday (August 19)

Panel – Judging a Cover By its Book

An artist doesn’t always read the novel they’re illustrating a cover for, and even when they do they can make mistakes. Sometimes it’s just funny; other times it’s outrageous. What are the worst mistakes you’ve seen on covers, or when has a cover completely misrepresented the story it’s supposed to be selling?

When: 12:30 – 13:20
Where: Alhambra (Point Square Dublin)
Who: Peter V. Brett along with Celine Kiernan, Cat Marsters, and Rob Carlos

If you’re going to Worldcon, please feel free to come by! If there are any changes/additions to Peat’s events, we’ll be listing them on his Appearances page, so make sure to check there.

Fanart: The Painted Man Fan-Reading

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Today we’re thrilled to have a special sort of fan-video to show off. Renee April put up a One Chapter Wonder video in which she reads a chapter from The Painted Man.

This is an awesome idea, and I think she did a great job. Check it out:

Very cool. Also, that is indeed one of the limited-edition Australian hardcovers of The Painted Man.  They were the book to ever have Lauren Cannon’s newest ward circle design and they were made specifically for Peat’s fans in Australia.

Good job getting your hands on one and many thanks for the fantastic reading! To see more of Renee’s readings, check out her official Youtube channel.
