So I started my novel at the beginning of the summer, and it just hit 8,000 words. Woohoo! At least 92,000 more to go

I have a good friend who can "influence" you to write….
she lives in a Cabin in the woods,…. she has a mallet … and a block that fits snug between your ankles…

Just a quick update: at this point the novel is 30,000 words strong, with a projected 80,000-100,000 words. I was able to write 1,000 words a day during winter break. Now that the school semester is back in full swing, I haven't been able to touch it. But, if I keep up the 1,000 words a day during school vacations, I should easily have enough time to finish the first draft and get some serious editing in by the time I get my Bachelor's Degree. More than anything I'm hoping to avoid balancing writing with a full-time job, so unless I hit a major creative block, things are moving in due course :) .
