I Have Fans

So get this. A fan from Poland saw my blog entry on the Polish art and commented that there were other pictures I didn’t put up. When I commented back that I didn’t even know there WERE other pictures, he scanned and sent them to me!

So, to sum up:

  1. I have fans.
  2. Some of them are in countries half a world away, where I don’t even speak the language.
  3. They are willing to go out of their way to do nice things for me.
  4. The Polish version of my book is fucking awesome.

It’s a wonderful life.

  1. Hehehe that’s wonderful, Peat. 🙂 And you know what (IMO) is even better? having written a book that brings all those fans together into a community – we’re spread all across the world but hell, The Painted Man brought (and still brings) us all together! 🙂

Wishing you, Danielle, Jinx and Cassie and the whole family a wonderful Christmas! 🙂 All of the best, Peat!

Looking forward to The Desert Spear! 🙂 2009 is gonna be huge!

  3. The concept of having fans is… foreign to me. I’ve barely gotten used to having friends.

  4. If I’m already your friend, do i still have to be your fan? Conflict of interestes, you see…

  5. No one is required to be my fan, especially not anyone who witnessed my bachelor party.

  6. I was given The Painted Man as a Christmas present. I spent the most of the night reading the last half of the book. It’s 4:35 (Australian time) in the morning now and my girlfriend is scolding me for not getting any sleep….

Anyway, hats off to you! The book was fantastic. I’m looking forward to The Desert Spear.

  7. Sorry to be the cause of relationship strife, Mike, though I’m thrilled you liked the book enough to stay up waaay past bedtime reading it. For me, that’s the sign of a rare and wonderful read, something that is in all-too-short a supply.

There was more to this reply, but I decided to just make it my next blog post…

  8. Nice to know you’re so happy from the scans I sent you.
Also I’m happy that you mention here about it XD

You wouldn’t guess what had i buyed my friends for Christmas. Yes – your books. Everyone was happy because I talked about it and didn’t want to share my book (yes I’m a cheapass).

Even those of my 4 friends which don’t like to read so much ended it under 24 h. Now I have others to talk about it and they are eagerly waiting for the Desert Spear.

I don’t want to make you hurry writing it, because many book I read had cheap ending but I think that everyone will agree with me that everyday waiting for it is like a torture for us.

  9. Some of your fans were fans before you saw print 🙂 That should tell you something.

Hope you, Dani and Cassie had a great holiday. Best to you all.

    🙂

  11. I am from Poland, I got “Painted Man” for christmas and I’ve read it in 5 days (I’m not an everyday reader, I must admit I don’t read a lot of books, maybe 10 a year)… Yeah, I must say it is fucking awesome, I haven’t read the english version (yet?) but the polish one is really decent

    Looking forward to a continuation!!!
