Bric-a-Brac

I know it’s been a while since a meaty post, but I’ve been busy working on interviews for a variety of websites and publications, which should start filtering out soon. I’ll announce it all here.

In the meantime, some reviews!

There’s a great, spoiler-free review of The Warded Man on the website for January Magazine.

Jessica Strider, Bookseller Extraordinaire from The World’s Biggest Bookstore in Toronto, did a nice interview with me for her blog scififanletter.com a couple of weeks ago, and has followed up with a glowing spoiler-free review of The Warded Man now that she’s read the book. Thanks, Jessica!

FantasyWitch posted a brief review on her blog.  It’s mostly the book’s marketing copy, but she puts her own thoughts at the end.

Mini Warded Man review on Walker of Worlds. He promises a larger one soon.

Great Painted Man mini-review from someone who bought it while traveling in Thailand!

Found another pair of very positive Polish reviews, too. Here are the shitty google English translations for Book I and Book II, as well as the original Polish: Book I and Book II.

P.S.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted for The Painted Man to win the David Gemmell Legend Award for Fantasy. Looks like voting is closed. We’ll see in a few days if I made the short list.

  1. I have yet to write a review of The Warded Man. Here it is:

“The Warded Man is a very good book. It’s so good that you should buy several copies, just in case you lose one, to ensure uninterrupted enjoyment.”

Succinct, no? I really did read it, Peat. Honest.

  2. You should put that on Amazon and B&N. My number of reviews is atrociously low.

  3. The FoG-PoP piece will go live at midnight-ish tonight. It will include mention of your frilly Renaissance Fair shirt and pictures of our kids. Also, your geek dad interview. You have been warned! http://forcesofgeek.com

  4. Best. Interview. Ever.

You couldn’t resist a poke at GRRM, now could you?

In defense of the conservative, Cassie does have a Pentagon onesie and a hat reading “future agent” thanks to one of her growing legion of fans. A few more carefully placed nudges like this and hopefully she’ll grow up to be a full blown Geek-o’-War.

You know, like Jennifer Garner on Alias.

  5. Many thanks for mentioning the mini-mini-review I did on my blog 🙂 Jusy wanted to let you know that I’ve got the full one up now (http://tinyurl.com/cs4795) and that you’ve got yourself another lifelong fan! Excellent stuff.
    Best
