TDW Cover: Margherita’s Inevera

Posted by Meg

The next entry to the The Daylight War Cover Contest comes from the awesome Margherita who has entered and won many other contests in the past.

I am a fan of this cover; the expression on Inevera’s face is incredible. And the detail, the wards and detail on her headdress, are beautiful. Check out what Margherita has to say about her cover:

I don’t have a paperback copy of The Desert Spear (in which, I believe, Inevera’s POV was included), so I actually only JUST read the preview on the website a few days ago. As much as I despised Inevera in TDS, I can’t help but feel a connection after cosplaying her for last year’s contest. She’s my girl, now. And I was soooo excited to be able to incorporate her into my version of The Daylight War cover.

I imagine Inevera having an affect on each of the main characters’ lives and so I concentrated on her. She holds her alagai hora as they display glowing symbols to represent the other characters. Those symbols are my attempt at trying to fit the avatars from the novels into such small spaces. It took a lot of fiddling with Photoshop until I got things right. Or at least as close to right as I could handle.

I really enjoyed working on this project. I’m, once again, so very thankful that we’re given the opportunity to feel like we’re a part of the team.

You can check out Margherita’s amazing, grand prize winning Inevera cosplay here.

Feeling inspired? Submit your very own Daylight War cover by 11:59pm on October 15. Check out all rules and prizes before entering.
