The Daylight War: And Reviews Come Trickling In

As the exciting release of The Daylight War draws closer, book bloggers are already posting their reviews. Here are some of the recent ones. Some reviews contain mild spoilers, but the snippets in this post are spolier free!

  • Nicholas of N.schmiedicker finished The Daylight War in a couple days. Check out his review here.

Brett has not only replicated the success of his previous novels but has surpassed them, creating a nonstop thrill ride to the end. It is mentally exhausting knowing that I have to wait as long as I do in order to get my hands on the next book. Although, I may just have to content myself with beginning the series anew, it’s that good.

In the world of The Demon Cycle, humankind use wards to keep the demons at bay. In our world, Brett weaves words to bring that world and the characters within it to life. And live they most certainly do. I just love this series and will suffer along with the rest of you until Brett delivers books four and five of the Cycle. Honest word.

The world that Brett has created is rich with detail and innovation and I am itching with anticipation to find out how humans will fare against their enemies from the core!

The Daylight War was a book that I devoured. It is the best in the series so far … The Demon Cycle is building up to something even bigger and I for one am holding my breath to see where Brett takes us next in the forthcoming novel (tentatively named) The Forest Fortress. Highly Recommended.

In the end, this is probably the best of the whole series. This will be a strong contender for one of the best books of the year, even this early on. Utterly gripping and brilliant.

Check out Peat’s upcoming Appearances to see if he will be doing a reading near you. And don’t forget to catch Peat tomorrow night on the Fantasy Subreddit for his AMA (Ask Me Anything).
