Fan Art: Warded Game

Posted by Meg

Superfan Kym has been up to some pretty impressive stuff since the release of The Daylight War. You just need to check out her Deviant Art page to know that.

Recently, Peat received a package in the mail from Kym: a warded leather pouch containing nine warded wooden balls. And instructions to an entirely new game for warders!

Here’s how to play: (courtesy of Kym)

Warded balls for a simple game used by warders to practice their ward recognition skills, by sense of touch. In a game for two players each player selects one ball from the leather pouch and they check to see if it beats their opponent’s ball. The mind ward beats any other ward so a winning ward will eventually be selected by one player. In a variation of the same game, three warded balls are selected by each player and whoever has the stronger wards wins, the mind ward is a wild and beats any other ward.

Want to see more beautiful and creative warded art from Kym? Of course you do.

The Daylight War is now out in multiple countries! U.S., U.K. (Waterstones or Amazon), German and Poland editions are now available for purchase.

Want yours signed? Peat signed a stockpile of his books at each bookstore he visited. Even if you are not local, most of these will deliver. In the U.K.? Peat did the same for all the bookstores he visited as well.
