Publishers Weekly Barren Review

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! With ARCs floating around, we’re starting to get the first official reactions to Peat’s newest novella– Barren.

Recently, Publishers Weekly came out with a glowing review. This is the FIRST trade review of Barren and we honestly couldn’t be more thrilled at the response:

“Old resentments reemerge in Tibbet’s Brook as a dangerous demon rises in Brett’s rich final novella set in the Demon Cycle fantasy universe (after The Core)… Selia’s valiant struggle to serve her community and carve out space for her own happiness perfectly showcases Brett’s skill at creating an immersive fantasy world. Readers will be drawn into the hearts and minds of his characters and deeply moved by the themes of acceptance and community.”

You can find the whole review here!

This is so lovely. Barren is by far my favorite Novella Peat has ever written and you can bet I’m grabbing a copy. Right now, Subterranean Press is selling limited editions of Barren will not be available via distributors and large online retailers. It’s already doing well, so if you’re interested, I’d recommend preordering.

Did you hear? The Core US mass market paperbacks are officially on sale! You can head over to Amazon and order it now. You can also get the Hardcover version here and the Kindle version here!
