Hey everyone!

Krisztina Toth sent in a BUNCH of entries for the Still Life Contest, more than we’ve ever gotten from one person (at least, as long as I’ve been working for Peat). There’s enough material that we needed to split up Krisztina’s submissions into two posts. This is the first, second to be sent out tomorrow. Enjoy!

First up is the gorgeous Hungarian translation of Daylight War:

This is a simple shot, but you don’t need much to see how pretty this version is. To me the border always looked like torn parchment which, given the Demon Cycle’s setting, is appropriate.

Ahh, nothing starts off a good day like a drink and a book. Classic… also, I very much want that mug.

Bookshelf shot!! Again, I love these so much because it shows what else Demon Cycle fans are reading. Is that some Gail Carriger I spy? I think it is. Peat and Gail are friends, so it’s appropriate that their books are neighbors.

I love that Krisztina chose the Warded Man for this picture. The colors go so well against the hay. A very earthy shot, in my humble opinion. Very nice.

Hey everyone!

Just a few entries from The Still Life Contest today because the next one is going to have a LOT. This post features submissions featuring one of my favorite characters– Rojer Halfgrip himself.

Our first one was sent in by Jo Amies:

I thought I would try my hand at entering with a Rojer inspired artwork. Hope you like it ?

The digital effects and coloring on this is just lovely. I highly recommend clicking on this picture to see it bigger.

Next up is a submission from Jo H:

The favorite chair with the favorite book.

I won’t lie, that chair looks frikken comfortable. I’m not saying I’m going to come steal it, but I’m not saying I’m not going to either.

Hey everyone!

Thanks so much to everyone for participating in The Still Life Contest. We got more entries than expected and that is -FANTASTIC-. We get to give out more prizes and that there’s more to show off on the blog. It’s a win-win for us!!

That being said, the quantity of entries means it will take some time to share them all and choose a winner. We could cram the lot into a single blog post, then pick winners the next day, but that seems ungracious. I’ve watched these submissions come in and I know everyone has put a work into them. Some people have put in a LOT of work.

So we’re taking the scenic route. During the next few weeks, I’ll be doing my best to sort through the entries and put them up in blog posts. Once they’ve all had their time in the spotlight, Peat and I will talk prizes. In the meantime, here’s the first post-deadline batch of entries. Check them out!

Hey everyone!

A couple of days ago, Hugh sent in this gorgeous lightning ward tattoo! Check it out! It’s super intense!

Nearly indistinguishable from their wind demon cousins, lightning demon spit is charged with electricity that can paralyze a victim. They spit as they dive, snatching up their helpless prey to devour them alive.

Hey everyone! The Still Life Contest ends TODAY. If you haven’t sent in your submissions, tonight is your last chance.

Hannah A sent in three entries along with fanart! Check it out:

First entry is Arlen Bales from The Painted Man with ink, a signed book plate and my sketch of Rojer.

Second entry is of Renna Bales from The Skull Throne with a signed book plate, my sketch of her and a warded-like dagger.

Third entry are of the beautiful hardcover novellas, The Great Bazaar and Brayan’s Gold along with Messenger’s Legacy, with hand carved wooden dices of the warded symbols. Inspired by Inevera’s hora pouch.

You might recognize that gorgeous Rojer art from the Skull Throne Paperback Contest. Very, very cool.
