Mark Lawrence– Daylight War Review!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! A pretty cool guy recently reviewed The Daylight War.

In addition to being a Fantasy nerd, Mark Lawrence is also the author of the Broken Empire Triology. You can check out his official website by clicking on his name below:

He recently put up a glowing review of the Daylight War that you can find here. I particularly like this one because it briefly goes over the others as well (no spoilers).

If you’re looking for a well thought out review of the Daylight War, check it out! Also consider trying the Broken Empire trilogy. I hear it’s quite good.

Coffee Klatsch Recap/Supanova Update!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Quick update–Peat will be attending the following events at Supanova in Adelaide TOMORROW (Friday):

-Official Opening Ceremony (Cosplay Theatre)
6.00pm – 7.00pm
-Supanova Book Club (Supanova Seminars)
8.00pm – 9.00pm

Everyone got that? Good.

Moving right along!

This is the third and final part of the NYCC 2016 recaps. Yeeeaahh, I know this one is stretching it a bit. Technically, the Random House Author Coffee Klatsch was a post-NYCC event, but I’m still counting it.

The Coffee Klatsch was held at the Random House building in NYC. If anyone hasn’t seen this place, it is -gorgeous-. It’s a bibliophile’s wonderland.

Walking in the front lobby, you’re already surrounded by shelves filled with books:

Once in the event space, there was coffee and surprise treats! Truefact– these were some of the best cookies I’ve ever had in my life. Peat enjoyed them too.

Best of all, there were stacks and stacks of Warded Man books to take (for free!) and get signed.

Anyone who went was encouraged to take some prime reading material and, of course, spend some quality time with the man himself!

It was an awesome day. If Random House does it next year and you’re in the area, I recommend checking it out.

NYCC 2016 Recap (Sunday)!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! This is the second part of the NYCC recap. Sunday is kids day at NYCC, which meant it was time for Cassie to show off her hard-earned convention outfit of the year.

As some fans will know, it has been a long-standing tradition for Peat to take Cassie to Comic Con. To win her costume, however, she has to complete a series of trials in order to have it ready in time! Last year she cosplayed Lara Croft:

Cassie cosplayed Lara again for 2016, but this time went with Lara’s badass catsuit. Once again, she annihilated her challenges in order to get the suit, sunglasses, earpiece, and tickets to the con.

First up at New York Comic Con was a trip over the the Del Rey booth for a quick pic with Renna. I honestly can’t tell which of these ladies is more badass here:

Next, Cassie spent time walking around and seeing all the wicked-awesome promo displays. Here you can see her posing with one of the coolest superheros ever!

Funfact– Jessie Graff, the stunt double for the liveaction Supergirl series and first woman to qualify to compete in a Ninja Warrior City Finals, is one of Cassie’s personal role models.

This next pic might be my favorite from the entire con. She’s got the guns and the ride. All she needs is a 5-movie contract for an action series (Jane Bond 2026).

All in all, it was a great convention!! You can read more about Cassie’s previous cosplays here.
