Fan Art: One Arm

Posted by Karen

Hi everyone! Yesterday we put up a fanart of a young scarred Arlen. Today, we’ve got one of the demon who gave him those scars.

Luiz Alberto sent in this incredible drawing of One Arm:

OneArm

The texture of the skin is so cool and I’m really digging all the horns and spikes. You can definitely tell it’s a rock demon. If I saw this guy coming at me, I’d definitely run the other way!

Thanks so much for sending in your artwork, Luiz!

You can get the The Warded Man hardcover on Amazon or Books-A-Million.

Fanart: Young Arlen

Posted by Karen

Hi everyone! We’ve gotten some really cool fanart lately. Peat keeps every piece and we appreciate them all. Today, we were sent this drawing of scarred young Arlen Bales by yfelody on Instagram. In his words:

“Young Arlen Bales, at the time he was warding the furniture of the library. I’ve been binging this series (The Demon Cycle) so much, I love them! Especially the first book”

Thanks sending in the art, yfelody! I particularly love the shading and raggedness of the scars. You can follow yfelody’s instagram here.

Peat always appreciates art from his fans. If there’s any we miss, or if anyone is inspired to make new content, don’t hesitate to let us know!

If you want to read about young Arlen, you purchase The Warded Man hardcover on Amazon or Books-A-Million.

Demon Weapons: Winner!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! This week’s giveaway was incredible and had the most responses of any yet. We had so many great entries, both clever and comical. Here are just a few of the great submissions we received:

“I’d go with a warded war hammer (wardhammer?). One end would be useful for piercing the armor of bigger demons, and the other could send the smaller ones flying. It would probably be somewhat unwieldy, but at least I’d go out in style.” -OldNile

“Well I would have use a ultra long hair that are in dreads with a ton of beads on them made out of electrum and engraved with runes.” -ahm

“I would use an onyx Figurine of Wondrous Power to call upon Guenhwyvar. To be summoned to the Prime Material Plane, emitting a gray mist which quickly solidified into the panther shape. A huge black panther. A weapon, yet also a true and loyal friend to accompany me through the long nights to follow.” -Florian D. Krijt

“A warded heavy cross bow with warded bolts that has a music box built into the crank. That way while you’re loading the shot it is simultaneously playing music to lull them. It basically provides you coverage while you reload.” -Bebarce

“A warded whip would sure be handy. (cool hat optional)” -Paul McKenna

These are all so cool and creative! I love how many different ways you all can come up with to fight demons. We also have to give Markus and Tressa honorable mentions for their humorous/inventive weapons:

“I would have to go for the most evil weapon imaginable… LEGOs. With them, I’d be invincible. They would all be warded. With them you could easily build walls to protect everyone. You can also easily build different types of weapons, like hammers, that would eventually get strengthened. If you wanted to, you could even go Renna style and throw the warded legos at the demons like she did with chestnuts. And of course, the most sinister and probably the most satisfying way to utilize them is to just throw a bunch of warded legos on the ground. Watch as the demons finally know true pain when they step on them and fall back.” -Markus Edwards

“Personally, I’m not one of those fighting types. Since I would consider Arlen a weapon, himself.. I’d throw him at them! Sic em Arlen! SIC EM!” -Tressa

Very cool. And the winner for this week’s contest is:

“I’d adapt the style of a retiarius – a Roman gladiator who used a net in battle. I’d weave my net from a strong rope and interlard it with weighted warded beads – perhaps made of lead.” -Dolly Fitzroy

Congratulations Dolly!

Be sure to tune in tomorrow for our next Warded Wednesday!

Fan Art: Book Club Art!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Over the weekend, Claire Margetts let us know via Facebook about her amazing Sci-Fi bookclub! Every month, they choose a book to read and this month’s pick was none other than The Warded Man.

The Warded Man

We’re so happy to hear about this kind of thing. Book clubs are super fantastic and it’s exciting for Peat’s book to be chosen by one.

They even did some fanart! Introducing the newest band in The Demon Cycle:

Rock Demons

This is great! I love the expressions and postures. Good thing a microphone only needs one hand, huh? Rock on!

Here’s a picture of the amazing bookclub, all with their own copies of The Warded Man.
