Check out this awesome review posted by Austin on the Lemuria Bookstore Blog that digs into common fantasy tropes and how The Warded Man deals with these sometimes over-used themes.
Here’s a quote from the review:
The Warded Man by Peter V. Brett redeems this overused, undercooked story line, in great fashion. The writing does the job, but it is the story is just spectacularly done: great world building and characters that you care so much about that putting down the book becomes so difficult that you should just go to the doc before starting it to get a catheter installed.

Graphic Audio has done some incredible presentations of all three of Peat’s novels: The Warded Man, The Desert Spear and The Daylight War. GA productions are similar to an audiobook … but add-on a full cast of voice actors, music to up the tension and sound effects for every battle. We would highly recommend all three, and today they are all 20% off!
It gets better. Graphic Audio is releasing both of Peat’s published novels for reduced prices. They have quite the schedule going on over there, so let’s take a look at it, one step at time.

So, last week Peat and Myke’s literary agency, JABberwocky, changed offices from Queens to Manhattan.
Sam from JABerwocky took this incredibly awesome stop motion video using the Oh Snap app on the iPad to chronicle the agency’s move.
For the holidays, Peat gave the JABberwocky crew Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed animals for Christmas.
They wanted to make sure all the animals from the hundred-acre-wood made the move. Turns out the animals had, but they were in a little bit of trouble …
Peat went ahead and posted the photo, asking for captions, best one winning a paperback Daylight War. Myke threw in a copy of Shadow Ops: Control Point, and the competition started heating up on both Facebook and Twitter.
Though all of you are undoubtedly witty, there can only be one winner to the caption contest. And the winner is …
Erika Wilson
Poor Tigger Discipline.
Congrats, Erika! You will be receiving your prizes in the mail shortly.
Be sure to check out these other hilarious captions that deserve a nod for their creativity.
The Mighty Buzzard @TMBuzzard
The regional governors now have direct control over their territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line. (Can’t resist the classic Star Wars reference).

You assure me you are seamlessly infiltrated into the organization, so now the time has come. We hit Pooh and get take control of the honeypot – TONIGHT!

After sending Poohbear to the corelings, Peter contemplates if the sentence was to harsh for 1 lost pot of honey.

So following yesterday’s International Day of Happiness party, I think we need a rethink on the organizing committee.
