Chris on Facebook got this awesome tattoo on his shoulder to ring in the New Year.

Hopefully he will be protected from any new demons that might be rising in the New Year. The design is from Justine Glass’s winning contest entry for the Warding Contest. All wards designed by Lauren K. Cannon.

The first piece of fan art of the New Year did not disappoint. Malgorzata Mitmalska put together this gorgeous Arlen portrait:

Holy crap this is amazing. The detail of Arlen’s warded skin and how the different symbols interlock is phenomenal. The larger wards really bring the whole thing together. I can’t imagine any corelings getting through Arlen’s wards in the New Year. Thanks Malgorzata for sharing!

Truly terrifying! The flames coming out of the nostrils and eyes is amazing. Thank you Dan Grama on Facebook for creating and sharing your demon fan art!

Join the group to chat about all things Warded Man, Desert Spear and Daylight War and speculate about what will happen next in The Skull Throne and beyond.
Thanks Obaid for starting the discussion. Happy posting!

Dominick, over at the blog Fantastical Imaginations, has an innovative way to discover some of the best fantasy and science fiction reads from 2013. Instead of compiling books that he read, Dominick asked some of his favorite authors to list their fantasy favorites from this past year. Check out this awesome list to see what you might have missed in 2013.
As for Dominick’s favorites, it was a tie between The Daylight War and Mark Lawrence’s Emperor of Thorns.

What books stood out in 2013? Let us know your favorites in the comments.
