Warded Triforce

So the other day I got an e-mail.

Well, I guess I get e-mails every day, but this one was pretty special. Here’s what it said:

My New Wards Tattoo (Warded Triforce)

Hi Peat,

First I must say that I’m a huge fan which is probably pretty evident.  I recently had this tattoo done, and I figured I would e-mail the pictures so you could have a look for yourself.  I was thinking about holding out until you had another contest but I was too proud of my new wards to wait.

I’ll give you a little story about what it means to me and why I chose to do it other than being a big fan of the series.  The triforce is taken from Legend of Zelda which I’m sure given your geekdom you are at least moderately aware of.  Anyway my two close friends and I decided to get semi-matching tattoos we would each get a triforce with a different piece colored.  Each piece represents a different aspect and the three of us shaded the aspect best suited for our personality and lifestyle.  We would then decorate it as we saw fit.

The upper piece represents POWER I placed the ward for rock demons (or against rock demons) in this triangle because what demon better represents brute strength and cunning then old one-arm and his brood.  The lower left triangle represents WISDOM and the obvious choice for me was the ward for the mind demons.  The lower right triangle (my piece of the triforce) represents COURAGE and the crush ward is used to represent Arlen through out the series and courage and occasionally downright recklessness are the strongest traits for the warded man.  Then I surrounded my friendship with your amazing ward ring to center my tattoo and give it a strong bond.

Anyway there you have it I hope you are as impressed with it as I am.  I eagerly await Brayan’s Gold and The Daylight War. Keep up the amazing work.

Always Inspired,

Greg Markwardt

PS:  On a Geeky side note The Warded Man and Twilight Dancer would kick Link and Epona’s Asses.+

Pretty awesome stuff, huh? Even though Greg didn’t wait for contest, I think I can spare a signed book to send his way. I’m always shocked when people get ward tattoos. It’s an honor to have inspired people to such a degree.

The Zelda theme is also ironically appropriate, since I’ve been addicted to The Legend of Neil for the last couple of weeks.

  1. Aw man how amazing is Legend of Neil. I spent an afternoon last weekend dedicated to rewatching it all. So sad to see the final episode in a few weeks.

  2. Pretty awesome tatoo 🙂 Sadly I’m too young to get a tatoo, but having some sort of ward on my upper arm/shoulder would be totally awesome.
