Hey everyone! Thanks so much to everyone who entered the Core ARC Contest. There are some submissions to show off. We’ll be posting them over the next while while Peat make the hard decides about the winners.
These next submissions come to us from a long-time fan. Birte always sends in amazing contest entries, and this time is no exception!

Finally got round to finishing this. I found some clay that I didn’t think I had and made a Leesha puppet. It’s the scene in The Skull Throne when Leesha is lured into the forest by the minds and realises she walked into a trap. Luckily I’ll have three weeks off to reread the last two books. Cannot wait for the next!!!
These are gorgeous. I love the use of real foliage and that Leesha puppet is just incredible! So cool!
This next one was sent in by John T. Check it out!

In this scene I have Arlen fighting against a wood demon. Arlen and his glowing wards don’t need his portable circle tonight as he anticipates this corelings attack under a clear starry night.
I really dig the setup! It’s Arlen VS Wood Demon and my money is on Arlen. Great job, John!

Hey everyone! Just when we thought Natasha, Marsha & Lisa had swept the board with their incredible maze entry, we get another that takes our breath away.
This incredible take on the Krasian maze was sent in by Sophia Ungermann from Germany:

Wow, just look at all those individually-crafted demons. It must have taken forever to make all those. What a nifty entry-

Wait, it lights up? What, just… What?? That’s so cool! It gives this entry a totally different feel!

I chose this setting because out of all the scenes I like the ones in Krasia the most and everything about their culture fascinates me. The whole atmosphere kinda reminds me of Morokko where I spent one of the best and most fascinating holidays as in ever. I crafted everything, took a few photos and then cut holes for the lighting. I really like the effect because it makes the whole scene a lot more dynamic.
Honestly, I am so in love with this entry. The thought and work that went into it really shines through, both literally and figuratively. A really amazing job from Sophia.

Hey everyone! What’s better than a badass take on some ferocious demons? Two badasses. Today Arlen and Renna have teamed up to take names, kick ass, and maybe even save the world.
Our first team-up entry was sent in by Mitchell Norton:
I hope you enjoy my version of Arlen and Renna battling a mind demon in the forest with a woodie looking on from the end of the Desert Spear. I love this scene as Arlen takes on his first mind demon and starts using misting against the demons!
I loved this scene and I love this entry! The wards on Arlen’s body must have taken real effort to do and I’m digging the use of the background foliage. I’m also amused by the size difference between Arlen and Renna here. Though she may be but little, she is fierce!
Our next one was sent in by Carol Hinds! Same scene, same characters, hugely different interpretation:

I decided to try and make the scene at the end of The Desert Spear when Arlen and Renna are hunting wood demons. The Coreling Prince attacks using a mimic demon to copy Renna. This was a great dilemma for Arlen not being able to save her and I loved the ending of this book. Sadly my kids think they’re too old for action figures and toys so I had to make a demon from bits and pieces and buy a couple of cheap dolls to play Renna. I warded my Riddick figure to play the part of Arlen.
This is so cool Carol! I can immediately tell what scene it is. Plus The Renna/Mimic interaction is especially unsettling (in the best possible way). Awesome job!

Hey everyone! We’re still going over entries to the Core ARC Contest. In the meantime, we’ve put nearly all of them up on our new Facebook album. To see what other people have done (or see your own), head on over and check it out!
This one was sent in by John Stewart:

Hope you like my entry for the diorama. Sculpted from clay and paper mache. Can’t wait to read The Core!
I cannot express how amazing this entry is. Creating all those Minds must have taken ages and they look great! This is a fantastic entry for one of the most memorable scenes in The Demon Cycle.

Hey everyone! Jumping off from yesterday’s blog post, this one also features Arlen getting into a bunch of trouble with corelings. Check it out!
Istvan Tomoskozi created this scene with some truly terrifying demons:

I’m sending you my papercraft diorama for this awesome contest. I made paper Arlen fighting with 2 demons. If you checking the last 3 pictures, you can see the true fire demon with real flames not just paper 🙂 My plan worked to make true fire demon as Arlen’s opponent. I hope you will enjoy it.
We also got this one where Istvan added a fancy-shmancy filter:

To me, it looks like an interpretation of what the world might look like with wardsight.
Eric Schöneberger put his own spin on the contest by creating cutouts of Arlen and One arm:

I love how stylized Eric’s art is. Very, very, cool!
