Fanart: Demon Designs

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! We’ve got some new art from a fan overseas.

This awesome picture was sent in by Lucie P. from France! You thought one demon was scary? Try six:

I love just how different they all look; the thinner wood demon with its bark-like spines, the rock demon’s lumbering form, the wind demon’s wings. My favorite would have to be the flame demon. It’s small, but you can tell it’ll mess you up. Very, very, cool.

Thanks so much to Lucie for this incredible creation! The grouping really shows off how corelings can come in all sorts of terrifying shapes and sizes.

Fanart: Warded Door

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! A little while ago a fan sent in their unique Fanart via Twitter.

Iris showed off her love of the Demon Cycle by warding a door. This takes some true Warder skills since it has to be done precisely and meticulously on a vertical surface. Check out the craftsmanship:

This is so good! I’m impressed with how smooth the lines are. It must have taken a steady hand. They’re also spaced apart just perfectly. A fine job, even if the artist might not agree…

On the contrary! These markings look absolutely incredible. When corelings try to come busting in, you’ll be glad to have a ward circle to protect you 🙂

Fanart: Art From Supanova (Part 2)!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! This is the conclusion from yesterday’s special two-parter post. We’ve got some cool Fanart to show off from Peat’s time at Supanova, so let’s get to it!

You remember John Stewart’s amazing fanart from Part 1? Well he’s done it again with this gorgeous illustration of a mind and mimic demon:

This is the only colored picture were have from John, but boy did he deliver. I -adore- the colors here. The shading on the mind demon, plus all those veins… it’s terrifying in all the best ways.

At Supanova, Peat also received these gorgeous warded journals created by talented Jayne! Check them out:

These journals are so pretty! It must have taken ages to get those wards done so precisely. The whole effect is breathtaking. These journals would be perfect for a Warder to take their notes in and the runes would protect it for generations to come!

A huge, amazingly grateful shoutout to John and Jayne and all the other wonderful people who came to Supanova. Peat had an incredible time and it was possible because of you. Like I always say– Demon Cycle fans are the best fans. Thank you.

Fanart: Art From Supanova (Part 1)!

Hey everyone! Peat got a bunch of kickass Fanart during Supanova, enough that it wouldn’t fit in yesterday’s recap. Because of that, we so we decided to show it off in this special two-parter post.

Without further ado, here’s Part 1:

First up are some incredible pieces from John Stewart. This one (my personal favorite) features Demon Cycle’s POV characters. It’s super cool. Am I the only one who this This could also make for the most dysfunctional family photo ever?

The black and white shading on this is incredible. It must have taken ages, particularly with all that detailing. I’ve actually seen this picture in person it’s as amazing as it looks, if not more!

Next up is Asome vanquishing a mimic demon.

Never thought I’d be more scared of a person than a demon. Look at that carnage… remind me never to tick him off.

John also did demon pencil art. Check out this fierce wood demon:

And this flame demon might be small, but look at those teeth. I’ll stay inside the wards, please and thank you:

All of John’s work is stunning. Thanks so much to him for creating it and for being such an creative fan of the series!

Supanova Recap

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Whoo, the holidays have been a real doozy, so this recap is coming out supa-late. Let’s get this done 🙂

Peat had an amazing time at Supanova, but the life of a writer isn’t all fun and games:

km7023_130pm

… okay, sometimes it is.

There was a great turnout of Warded Fans at Supanova! People bought books there or came with their own (or both!). Peat had a line that stretched all the way out the door:

Can’t forget the importance of a good panel-selfie. Say hi everyone!

Peater also got to meet the Dark Fantasy writer Alan Baxter. Check out this nerdy cool meta double selfie they took together:

Of course, the best thing about any convention is the one-on-one time with the fans.

Hi Peter, it was really great to meet you today at Supanova Brisbane. I’m still a bit starstruck! Thank you for taking the time to have a quick chat and to sign my book. Looking forward to your next book

Thank you so much to Supanova for hosting. There aren’t any conventions that would let Peat hug his own koala. Everyone we interacted with was competent and friendly and we couldn’t be more grateful to them.

We’d also like to thank everyone who came out to see Peat! You guys made it a blast. There were a bunch of people who gave Peat artwork at Supanova! We’ll be putting up posts fanart-specific posts about that over the next couple of days, so stay tuned for them.
