Fanart: Henna Tattoos!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Remember that totally badass ward-circle tattoo from yesterday’s post? Well today we’ve got another… albeit of a less permanent nature.

Diana Friesen sent in pictures of her henna wards, one of heat and one of unsight, tattooed like a boss on the backs of her hands:

There are awesome, Diana! It takes real skill to get henna lines that straight. Thanks for sending in the pics.

Guh, so cool!! I love how sharp and clean the lines are. Mitchell Graham posted this picture on his Instagram and it is 100% badass. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Polcon Recap: Part 2, Fanart galore!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Why did I make two parts to the Polcon recap? Because there was too much awesomeness to fit in just one. Namely, all the awersome swag, gifts, and fanart Peat saw during his trip.

I thought this badassery deserved its own post, so let’s get to it!

First up is Karolina’s shirt. ‘Learn Polish’, it says. ‘It’s easy!’, it says. Judging by the one below, I have my doubts…

karolina

Kasia did two gorgeous pictures, one of Inevera and one of Renna. Both were gifted to Peat in frames and now hold special places of honor in his home.

If you think this next art style might look familiar, it’s because this is the same person who won the Favorite Character Contest Peat held back in 2013. Yep, the same one whose art is now being used for Shire’s Lucky Klats.

Malgorzata decided to do a drawing of how Leesha would look all grown up and it is on point!

Marzena also drew a picture of Leesha decked out in full herb gatherer attire. I dunno if those purple flowers would kill me or cure me. Luckily, Leesha does.

Here’s a higher res version to show off the amazingness:

After getting all his surprise art, Peat took the time to meet, greet, and eat with his generous fans one-on-one. Take it from me, the dude is awesome to just sit back and chill with:

Aaaand that wraps up the recap! Thanks so much to everyone who came to Polcon and to Polcon for hosting. Honestly, it was a great time and Peat had so much fun getting to hang out with his fans. If you want to find out where he’s going to be next, you can always check out his Appearances page.

Polcon Recap: Part 1

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Peat was at PolCon 2016 and had an absolute blast. We’re gonna break down his trip here, so get ready for it:

Screen Shot 2016-08-16 at 10.49.08 PM

First things first, Peat stopped in Warsaw for a beer with Jack Ketchum (fantastic author) and Bartek Czartoryski (translator extraordinaire). Would this count as pre-gaming or pre-conning?

Then Peat stopped over at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. That is one gorgeous building:

The convention center took place on these beautiful grounds. Peat managed to snag this shot of a rainbow in the fountain… a sign of good things to come?

img_0313

Sure seems like it! Peat had an absolutely wonderful time taking pics with cosplayers. He battled an evil sorceress…

… found Arlen:

… and managed to piss off Inevera (stunning cosplay created by Ola). Needless to say, he’s lucky to be alive:

Peat also spent some time with this cosplayer, but you can’t see her because she’s wearing a cloak of unsight.

We can’t forget Peat’s awesome panels and signings. A bit shout-out to everyone who came!

All in all, Polcon was awesome, so awesome that we couldn’t fit it all into one post…

In Polcon Recap: Part 2, we’ll show off the awesome Fanart Peat received there! Look out for it tomorrow.

Fanart: Arlen Evolution

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! New fanart time is my favorite time. This piece shows a three-step process, if you will, of Arlen over the years:

ArlenEvolution

This is a really cool visual evolution! More than showing just how wardrobe and amount of tattoos changed, this picture also illustrates just how much Arlen grew up in these stories- from a tiny kid to a formidable adult!

…Does anyone else think Arlen got cooler as he got older? Makes me wonder what changes he’ll go through in the Core.

This awesome piece of art was created by aliasReuter on Deviantart. Feel free to check out more of their awesome art.
