Hey everyone! We’ve got some exciting news. Last week, Buzzfeed put out their Best Books List of 2015.
Imagine our delight when we found The Skull Throne listed as lucky #24. To quote the article:
Peter V. Brett expands and deepens his endlessly fascinating and increasingly complex world of humans beset by powerful demons who prey on them at night with this fourth and penultimate book in The Demon Cycle, which began with the excellent The Warded Man.
There are some really awesome books on this list and it’s so thrilling to see The Skull Throne among them! If you’re looking for some new authors, or just for a good read over the holidays, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
You can see if you agree with Buzzfeed by ordering The Skull Thronehere!

Hey everyone! Peat recently did an interview with Alex from minha-fuga-da-realidade (translated as my-escape-from-reality). It was an awesome experience that marks Darkside’s release of The Desert Spear in Portuguese.
There were a lot of great questions including how Peat started writing Fantasy and the awesome background of how the wards came to be.
For all Peat’s Portuguese fans, or anyone who doesn’t mind reading a translation, feel free to check out the interview!
You can order your copy of A Lança do Desertohere or from any other of Darkside’s other affiliated sellers!

Hey everyone! We have an important announcement about the Worldbuilders Fundraiser of 2015. As of today, the deadline for donations has been extended until Friday the 18th at midnight!
Thanks to Victor for letting us know about this in the comments of yesterday’s blog post. I went ahead and looked into it, and yes, there was an official statement about the extension.
Patrick Rothfus explains all the reasons in a heartstring-tugging post here. He also reminds us what the term ‘Bilbo It Up’ means.
If you’re curious, I’d definitely recommend taking a look or referring back to the Worldbuilders-relevant post where he first used it.
Hey everyone! This is a reminder about Worldbuilders’ Fundraiser 2015! To recap, Worldbuiders is a charity founded by fantasy author Patrick Rothfuss that supports Heifer International. This is an amazing charity and today is the LAST DAY to donate to this year’s annual fundraiser.
Want to see some of the cool/wacky stuff Peat has done for the Worldbuilders charity? You can read up on the time Peat shaved Myke Cole’s head. There’s also this year’s Fox in Socks video that Peat contributed to for the $325,000 stretch goal:
If you want to make a last-minute donation, head over to Worldbuilders’ official site! To everyone who helped out already, either financially or otherwise, thank you. We really appreciate it.
EDIT: The Worldbuilders Fundraiser has been extended! More info to come.

Hey everyone! We’ve been getting a lot of beautiful art over the last few weeks and we are super excited by it. A polish fan sent in this awesome rock demon fanart:
This is super cool. I wouldn’t want to run into this guy at night, especially not with all those teeth! Thanks so much to Igor for sending this in.
Speaking of Poland, Peat is going to be in Poznan for Pyrkon (April 8 through April 10). If anyone is interested in seeing him in person, feel free to check it out.
If you’d like to order Peat’s novellas for the holidays, you can find them here!
