Hey everyone! A few weeks ago, we were contacted by Pili with news that about her incredible warded tattoo. The tattoo was designed by her boyfriend’s son and incorporates a healing ward and a mending ward:
I am currently reading the desert spear and I have to say your books have captivated me. I love reading them and can’t put them down. I would like to show you the tattoo that Matthew designed for me as I also wanted the Initials M, P and P standing for Matthew, Paul, and Pili. He too has also read all of the demon cycle books.
Awesome tattoo, Pili! We love Matthew’s design and are thrilled it came out so well. Thanks for telling us about it!

Hey everyone! It’s getting to be that time of year, the time when nights get longer and demons have greater opportunity to wreak terror upon the world. Also, there are sometimes cookies involved.
In recent news, Peat put up this incredible wreath that was sent by superfan Mia back in 2011. That was four years ago, can you believe it? Well before my time as Peat’s dutiful assistant. You can check out more of Mia’s amazing fanart here.
HarperVoyagerUK also gave a wintery shoutout to this passage from The Painted Man:
Brr.. now I’ve got shivers. And not just for the cold.
I’d also like to slip in a casual reminder that there is still time to donate to the 2015 Worldbuilders Fundraiser. It’s a wonderful charity and you can find all the info at their website!

Hey everyone! Sarah recently send us a secret package, which promptly got delayed in the post for several weeks. Curse those mail demons, always making a mess of things!
Luckily, Peat managed to track them down and get it back! The package turned out to be warded pottery and wow, it was completely worth the wait!
Those wards are actually engraved into the ceramic and sealed so that they shine like fresh ink. Pictures don’t do it justice, so believe me when I say that it’s absolutely amazing. Plus it fits perfectly in Peat’s hand!
As soon as we got it, Peat immediately took some shots and we gushed about how cool this is. We were super worried it would get cracked, but these wards are made to last!
And, of course, what good would wards be without a demon to test them on? This is the picture we took just before the wards sent it flying back against a wall.
Thanks so much to Sarah for sending in her amazing artwork. Peat was so excited to finally get it and has put it in a safe place. If any demons come sniffing around, it’ll be the first thing he reaches for.

Hey everyone! We’ve got some exciting news. Worldbuilders 2015 has more than surpassed its $325,000 Stretch Goal!
So what does that that mean? Well, Worldbuilders asked Brenda Cooper, Cory Doctorow, Jim Hines, and our own Peter V. Brett to read Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. Peat had help. Jim had a cat. Brenda had her dogs. Cory just had trouble.
This is a super adorable video. Plus it shows Peat flubbing some Fox in Socks tongue-twisters, so I’d definitely recommend giving it a watch:
Thanks to all the authors for pitching in to make this video, and to everyone who contributed! If you want to check out other stretch goals or make a donation, you can find all the info at their website!

Hey everyone! A little while ago, one fan of The Demon Cycle sent us a fantastic personality quiz. It was really cool and, after following up, they allowed us to plug it into a quiz generator!
My coworker and I really love the Demon Cycle series. We listen to the audio books all throughout the work day and begin anew ever few months. Anywho, I sent her a “Which Character Are You?” quiz for the Demon Cycle series. I thought you might enjoy it too. -Evan
A huge shout-out to Evan for taking the time to craft all the questions for this quiz. You can take it here!
Which character are you?
