Messenger’s Legacy (German Edition)

Posted by Karen

Hello everyone! A little while ago, we received copies of the German edition of Messenger’s Legacy (Das Erbe des Kuriers) and we couldn’t be happier! Check out how amazing they look!

German Messenger's Legacy 1

I love the texture and the flowing script (I’m a sucker for little curls and whorls). In addition to truly spectacular cover art, they also have beautiful illustrations inside!

German Messenger's Legacy 2

Each one of these gorgeous pictures is unique and relates to the story. We chose one without spoilers to show here, but there are others in the book and each is just as detailed.

If you live in Germany, or just want to add this gorgeous book to your Demon Cycle collection, you can get it on sale here!

Scariest Demon: Winner!

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Our first Warded Wednesday was a huge success! We loved reading all the comments and seeing which demons took the spot of most terrifying on your lists. Some of the entries were really creative. Here are just a few that caught our eye:

“I would be afraid to meet the “I brought your daughter home late from a date dad” demon.” -Spencer P.

“Fighting a Mimic Demon would seem terrible scary.
Aside from all the different appearances that it can take that might as well come straight out of a horror story,it could look like my ex! I’d run! good bye! sorry.” -Tim K.

“I know of a very small species of coreling, there is only one of these creatures known to the world. This demon is extremely cute and will draw you in with sweetness and smiles.. then slowly but certainly will drive you to insanity. She will absorb your energy by keeping you awake through the night, at times she will throw herself to the floor, screeching and scratching or biting anyone/thing that approaches.. she brings joy and fear at the same time..and lastly, she steals your heart. I call her Kaede-Leesha, my love-demon =)” -Linz Powell

“What do you mean which demon is the scariest? I would hate to meet all of them! That is some scary gonna eat you voodoo you have there” -Paul Bain

Our honorable mention for this week’s contest is Mia. This answer isn’t just creative, it’s absolutely terrifying as well!

“I would be most afraid of the gym demon, a demon that has not appeared in any of the books as yet but which I believe exists. It’s always waiting in the sidelines, ready to pounce once you get off the treadmill or elliptical or when you put down weights to take an early rest. :-p” -Mia

And the winner of our very first Warded Wednesday Giveaway is:

“Definitely a mimic demon. The fact that they can turn into anyone is pretty freaky. Could you imagine if they found out what your biggest fear was? They could make your worst possible fear come alive. That would scare me more than anything. I don’t think I could recover from that. Also a mind demon combined with a mimic demon would be the worst possible case scenario. The amount of things they could do to torment you. They could make you believe that you fear something or someone, and then they would turn into it. It gives me shivers just thinking about it.” -Jazz

Congratulations, Jazz!

A big thank you to everyone who commented. Check back tomorrow for our next Warded Wednesday!

The Warded Man hardcover is now available online only! Check it out on Amazon or Books-A-Million.

Character Recreation: RPG Style (Part 2)!

Posted by Karen

In last Monday’s post, we featured OldNile’s amazing character redesigns for The Demon Cycle. There was some awesome content and we really enjoyed showing it off!

Since then, OldNile has gotten in touch with us with some new material, this time with his own commentary. We’re so excited to be able to share a second part of OldNile’s recreations. Check it out!

Gared Cutter 1

Here we see Gared charging out of a fort with his signature axe and blade combo. Why is he charging like this in broad daylight? I dunno, rogue Krasians. Moving on.

 Arlen Bales 2

Somewhat small ward circle – perhaps made out of childhood reminiscence?

Arlen Bales 1

Exploring long-abandoned ruins and shooting thunderbolt-like arrows into demons like no one else

Gared Cutter 5

Tinder and firewood, coming right up!

Gared Cutter 4

If we assume this Spriggan is a wood demon (I mean, it’s pretty close to one), this is your average nighttime scene around Deliverer’s Hollow.

Gared Cutter 3

I’d imagine Gared would easily go up against a pair of Nightwolves by himself like this.

 Wonda Cutter 2

Wonda facing off with a wolf. Maybe a smaller Nightwolf, that works.

Wonda Cutter 1

A neat shot of Wonda, showcasing her signature bow and facial scarring.

Gared Cutter 2

Gared finally found his plate gauntlets. Let’s just assume they are warded.

Also, a fun little bonus:

WVju547

After seeing this, I immediately went: “Yup, Gared would totally do this to someone who tried to rob him.”

These are so cool! I can definitely see similarities between a Spriggan and a wood demon. Of course, neither is a match for Gared! You can see the original screencaps on OldNile’s gallery here.

Reminder: We’re accepting comments for this week’s Warded Wednesday Giveaway until tonight! If you haven’t submitted a reply, feel free. Or you can always respond to someone else’s comment. The winner will be announced tomorrow.

The Warded Man hardcover is now available online only! Check it out on Amazon or Books-A-Million.
