New York Comic Con Recap

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! We’re nearing the end of 2018, so it’s time to pull up a chair and look at some of the cons Peat has been to over the past few months, and what happened at them. Starting with a big name, New York Comic Con had a lot to offer us this year! From signings to events to special gifts!

-To start off with, on Thursday Peat was signing and giving out free copies of Barren.

-Then he went and held a discussion panel with Pierce Brown!

-On Friday Peat gave out and signed copies of The Warded Man at the Penguin Random House booth. The booth also had a wicked awesome backdrop display and free posters.

-On Saturday Peat appeared on a game show called Geek Geek Revolution and (spoilers) avoided having to don the unicorn head of shame. We had a whole post about it a couple weeks ago.

-On Sunday Peat had a couple more Warded Man signings, and he had some special helpers who give me a run for my money as his assistant!

-Finally we got an awesome present from Super Fan Mia (we’ve talked about how awesome she is before). She was sweet enough to bring Peat cupcakes during the con, featuring Demons and Barren wards! I can personally confirm that they were as delicious as they were badass.

All in all, it was a great con made even greater by getting to meet up with all the awesome Demon Cycle fans. For all those who made it there this year, and those cheering us on from afar, thanks so much!

The auctions been going on for a few days, and while Worldbuilders still has a few more days to go, today at 9:13pm ET is when the Skull Throne ARC bidding ends!

This isn’t a version of the book you’d be able to find on a bookstore shelf, only limited copies were made. It also comes with an extra signed bookplate for good measure.
The proceeds for the sale go to the Heifer International charity, which is a really great cause and worth checking out. The auction for the ARC ends at 9:13 ET today, so make sure to get in your bid before it’s gone!

If you see this post and it’s already after the auction ends, you can still get cool Demon Cycle  merch/signed copies at the Worldbuilders Marketplace, which also has its proceeds go to charity. There’s also a of cool stuff from other authors and creators that you can check out at the market place too!

You can bid on the Skull Throne signed ARC here!

Barren Review: New York Journal of Books

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Today we have another review of Barren, presented to us this time by Cari Z of New York Journal of Books. NY Journal of Books is a site that hosts book reviews for all sorts of genres, with many of the review writers being authors themselves.

For this Barren review, be aware that it is spoiler heavy, so be sure you’ve given Barren a read already before you dive in!

If you’re a fan of Peter V. Brett and The Demon Cycle, then you’re definitely going to enjoy this novella set in the same world.

Thanks to Cari for writing this review, you can check out her review here and New York Journal of Books main site here.

Fanart: Warded Hand Tattoo

Posted by Karen

Hey everyone! Today we have another tattoo to show you, this time courtesy of lord_zephir (the ward wearer) and xeni_tattoo (the tattoo artist) on Instagram!

Really awesome design you guys! I love how the stippling effect makes it look like the ink can barely hold the energy within it. It’s a beautiful piece that will guard you from many a demon attack, lord_zephir, thanks so much for sharing!
